Anthony Urbania

ND is recruiting Anthony Urbania primarily as a Safety, but Urbania would not mind playing on either side of the ball. He was in South Bend twice last November for the Navy and Duke games. Urbania has offers from Illinois & Iowa but is apparently dead set on going to either ND or PSU, if offered. Neither has offered thus far, but if ND were to offer it seems that Urbania would commit on the spot. He is a big Zibby fan.

Anthony also compared the OSU campus very unfavorably to the ND campus, and one of his coaches is saying that Urbania has turned down an offer from OSU. If true, that’s a pretty ballsy move for a Ohio kid.

Buck, have you guys heard anything about Urbania turning down a Buckeye offer.

I haven't heard anything about turning down an Ohio State offer.

I think Urbania is at best the third safety on Ohio State's radar next year after Justin Turner and Darrell Mason.

I find it hard to beleive that anybody would turn an offer down. You can't just say thanks? You have to say No I don't want it? I find it hard to beleive he would do that to a program, let alone Ohio State.

Obviously, you have never spent much time on the OSU campus, or if you did you were stone cold wasted. It's a pretty crummy campus and it apparently had a profound effect on Urbania. BTW, the source of Urbania turning down the OSU offer is not just message board fodder. Unless one of his coaches is selling a line of BS, my guess is that it is true.

another thing, i remember IUB saying that there were 3 recruits that would commit on the spot. Are they Urbania, Shrive, & Golic? I also think TE - Fragel, LB - Hammock, and WR - Fleming would all commit on the spot if offered as well.
