Theoretically all 5 of the academic casualties have eligibility in 2015 because none of them will play in 2014. This list assumes that only Russell and Ishaq will be back.

IUB...how are you? Haven't seen you around that much.

If Golson chooses to come back and Ishaq is allowed to come back that would mean 9 (assumes Grace, Rabasa, and Jalen Brown will not be back) of the 12 5th year eligible Seniors seem likely to return in 2015. That would bring the schollie count down to 86 before any other defections and/or injury issues. Nicky Baratti seems likely to fall into the latter category which would bring the current total down to 85. With ND still in the hunt for quite a few other 2015 recruits it seems pretty certain that there is going to have to be some more attrition elsewhere.

I would probably add that Councell wont be back either. Joe Schmidt may play into an NFL role. Farley? Given our lack of depth at safety, I do believe he comes back.

Is there some way we can get rid of Prosise and Turner?

Ditto Councell. Push comes to shove, he's out.

I'd also add that it's likely Hounshell is done. Only participated in one game this year, and might be medically done this year again (can't remember).

Grace is another nominee. It's been a full year since his injury, and it seems like they're still having a hard time getting him on track.

Lets assume that Hounshell and Grace are done medically. We can take 2 more commits without even blinking. After that, we're looking at other forms of attrition - either tough calls by Kelly or kids packing their bags for playing time elsewhere.
I treasure my remark to a grandson who asked, "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" "No", I answered, "But I served in a company of heroes".

Minus these 6 (Grace, Rabasa, Jalen Brown, Councell, Hounshell, Baratti) would open up two spots.

Those shoulder injuries seem to be career enders. I'd be shocked if Baratti's career wasn't over. They've talked about Collinsworth getting a 6th year medical hardship but I just don't see him ever being healthy for an extended period of time. Tough break for all these kids...thank goodness they have the opportunity to earn an ND degree.
