George is definitely a stud. Already out performing upper classmen at combines and such. Everywhere he camps and competes he always listed as a standout. Florida is the current favorite.

George Campbell has always been high on Notre Dame’s board. In fact, Notre Dame assistant Tony Alford offered the 2015 Florida wide receiver a while back, but Campbell didn’t find out about for sure until Monday.

“Coach Alford called my coach and they were talking about it,” Campbell said. “He said he wanted to make sure that I knew they had offered me.”

The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder from East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Fla., now has 13 offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan and Vanderbilt among others. The Irish offer definitely made an impact.

“I feel good about it because that’s a good team and a team that was in the national championship,” said Campbell. “It helps a lot knowing that it’s an elite team and I know that I can accomplish anything with their academics also.”

Campbell doesn’t have any favorites at this point.

“All of my options are open,” he said.

He hasn’t been to South Bend yet, but hopes to do so soon.

“I plan on getting up there during the summer,” he said. “I want to see everything. I want to see what their offense is like and how I would fit. I want to see the facilities and just see all of campus.”

He visited Michigan this past weekend with his teammate, 2014 offensive lineman Mason Cole.

“It was pretty good,” Campbell said of his trip to Ann Arbor. “I enjoyed it. The people were great, the coaches were outstanding.”

Cole really enjoyed it as he announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Monday. Campbell is also teammates with 2014 receiver Tay Scott, who also holds an offer from the Irish, but where his teammates end up will have no bearing on his own future.

“No because I know wherever they are, I still have to make the best decision for me,” said Campbell.

Location also won’t play a role, but a few things will.

“Academics, coaches and basically do I feel like I could see myself at the atmosphere of the school and do I feel like I fit in.”
