Good idea. He's big enough to be a short snapper as well. Problem solved.

And then there were 13. Goodbye Denzel, goodbye Flowers.

    The 13 Uncommitted

    Dual-Threat Quarterback
Jacoby Brissett 6-5/225/4.50 West Palm Beach, FL

    Running Back
Savon Huggins 6-0/190/ Jersey City, NJ

    Athlete
    Nickalos Brassell 6-0/175/ Batesville, MS

    Offensive Tackle
    Cameron Clear 6-6/265/ Memphis, TN
    Cyrus Kouandjio 6-6/322/5.0 Hyattsville, MD
    Troy Niklas 6-5/240/4.7 Anaheim, CA
    Antonio Richardson 6-6/310/ Nashville, TN
    Xzavier Ward 6-7/255/ Moultrie, GA

    Offensive Guard
    Cyrus Hobbi 6-4/285/ Scottsdale, AZ
    Aundrey Walker 6-6/355/ Cleveland, OH

    Offensive Center
    Bryce Haynes 6-4/185/ Cumming, GA

    Weakside Defensive End
    Ray Drew 6-5/236/ Thomasville, GA

    Outside Linebacker
    Stephone Anthony 6-3/220/4.52 Wadesboro, NC
13 with offers. 3 still on the board. Kelly says no wiggle room on Ruffer & Montana so there is only 2 slots left.

Savon Huggins- announces 1/28. Final 3, ND, Rutgers, and UNC.

Troy Niklas- NSD decision between ND, Stanford, and USC. Niklas will be visiting ND the weekend before NSD.

Bryce Haynes- Bryce keeps pushing his announcement back. At this point in time it would be very surprising if he still had actionable offers from ND & pOSU, and UNC's schollie is not available for the 2011 Fall semester. Seems like Harvard is the likeliest possibility unless Sparty & Arkansas were added back in as choices at the last minute because Bryce was unable to commit at both ND & pOSU.

IUB, is it possible that Haynes has been told that if we lose out on both Huggy Bear and Troy that he will have an actionable offer, as he would then probably only bring back Nuss with the remaining ship (unless we have a transfer).

Certainly possible if Haynes is willing to wait until NSD to make a decision, but if he does that he is risking any other possibility except Harvard. Of course he may have already made up his mind that it's ND, and if he can't get a schollie with us then he'll go to Harvard. That would explain why he has not announced as planned both of the last two weekends.

Down to a dozen now. As many as 4 of the 12 will announce tomorrow. Huggins, Drew, Hobbi, and Haynes if he ever gets around to it.

12 with offers. Crabtree of Rivals says that Huggins has dropped ND so that leaves just 2 still on the board for the Irish. No slots left on paper for either one, but no doubt one of the 2 will be allowed to at least temporarily take away Nate Montana's slot.

Troy Niklas- NSD decision between ND, Stanford, and USC. Niklas will be visiting ND starting tomorrow. According to one source, Stanford has the edge coming into the visit, but that is most likely because Niklas just visited there. According to another published article though Niklas was not even accepted by Stanford, and it is now down to ND and USC.

Either way ND probably has a solid shot with a solid visit. Niklas seeing Lynch and Ishaq on campus and working out should definitely help in that regard.

Bryce Haynes- Bryce says his Final 2 are the Irish and pOSU. Coach Kelly is supposed to be talking to him today, presumably to let him know whether ND has room for him. Once again, an announcement could come as soon as tomorrow.

Busy day. 4 ND offered recruits commit elsewhere. Another one de-commits from another school. Only 9 left, with only one interested in the Irish.

9 with offers. Will Troy Niklas take Nate Montana's schollie, at least for the time being? On NSD we'll find out.

Troy Niklas- NSD decision between ND and USC. Niklas is visiting ND this weekend.
