One of the players on the Lemming list-Aubrey Lewis II Ath. NJ is the grandson of the late Aubrey Lewis a HB at ND in 1955/56/57.
Lewis was only the second black running back in ND history. (The first black RB at ND was Dick Washington in 1953).

the elder Lewis per the ND Media Guide of 1957 (then called Dope Book) held the ND record for the 220 yd low hurdles at :22.7 and the NCAA 400 meter hurdles mark at :51 seconds.
The Notre Dame football Encyclopedia called Lewis the 'fastest man to play for ND to that point'.

Another player on Lemming's 2012 list with ND ties is Eric Williams QB Jesuit High, Portland, Ore.
Eric is the son of Larry Williams an offensive linemen at ND in the '80. Larry made a few all-american teams in '83 & '84 before heading off for a career in pro football.

A Max Prep article from 2009 (that listed the top 100 then sophomores from the 2012 class) quoted Eric's coach, stating that Eric is 'just really athletic. I think he's going to be a 6-4, 6-5 215-or 220 pound QB that can run and really throw"

In addition to Lewis and E. Williams mentioned above, a third 2012 player listed on Lemming's top 350 has ND ties-Jon Heck OL Bolles High Jacksonville, Fla. Jon is the son of Andy Heck who stared at tackle on the 1988 ND National Championship team. Andy went on the play for the Bears and Redskins in the NFL. He is currently an assistant coach with the Jacksonville Jaquars.
