Ranking the ND commits within the Class (Final 2011)

This is a purely objective mathematical ranking of the current 12 verbal commits based on their relative rankings by Rivals/Scout/ESPN. I have also used any rankings by MaxPrep's or Athlete's Vault to break tie-breakers. Otherwise, this list does not take into account any subjective criteria such as positional need for the team, intangibles, etc.

I will update this list as the recruiting season goes on, rankings change, and additional verbals jump on board.

    1) Ben Koyack
    2) Matthew Hegarty
    3) Jordan Prestwood
    4) Eilar Hardy
    5) Jarrett Grace
    6) Conor Hanratty
    7) Clay Burton
    8) Tony Springmann
    9) Ben Councell
    10) Brad Carrico
    11) Matthias Farley
    12) Kyle Brindza

Subjectively I pretty much agree with this although Koyack & Hegarty are more like 1A & 1 B IMO.

  2. #2
Updated based on the latest rankings and the 4 additional commits.

    1) Ben Koyack
    2) Matthew Hegarty
    3) Aaron Lynch
    4) Justice Hayes
    5) Jordan Prestwood
    6) Eilar Hardy
    7) Jarrett Grace
    8) Conor Hanratty
    9) Anthony Rabasa
    10) Clay Burton
    11) Tony Springmann
    12) Ben Councell
    13) Brad Carrico
    14) Matthias Farley
    15) Jalen Brown
    16) Kyle Brindza
On the 4 most recent commits:

Lynch & Hayes come in at #3 & #4 as they are solid 4* across all the recruiting boards.

Rabasa is at #9 as although he is a Top 100 four * on ESPN, he is only a 3* on Scout & Rivals.

Jalen Brown is near the bottom as he is a 3* on Scout & ESPN, but Rivals has not even ranked him yet. A 3* ranking on Rivals would have landed Brown around the 11/12 spot.

  3. #3
Updated based on the latest rankings and the Atkinson commits.

    1) Ben Koyack
    2) Matthew Hegarty
    3) Aaron Lynch
    4) Justice Hayes
    5) Jordan Prestwood
    6) George Atkinson
    7) Eilar Hardy
    8) Jarrett Grace
    9) Conor Hanratty
    10) Anthony Rabasa
    11) Clay Burton
    T12) Tony Springmann
    T12) Josh Atkinson
    14) Ben Councell
    15) Brad Carrico
    16) Jalen Brown
    17) Matthias Farley
    18) Kyle Brindza
George Atkinson comes in at #6 just barely ahead of Eilar Hardy, and Josh at a tie for #12. Everyone else stays in the same order as previously except for Jalen Brown jumping over Matthias Farley because Rivals finally gave him a ranking.

  4. #4
Updated based on the latest rankings and the Tuitt commit.

    1) Ben Koyack
    2) Matthew Hegarty
    3) Stephon Tuitt

    18) Matthias Farley
    19) Kyle Brindza
Tuitt comes in at #3 just barely ahead of Aaron Lynch.

Because of the comings and goings I have not really bothered to look. I'm going to wait until next weekend to see where we are at that point and update this thread then.

As expected Lynch moves up to #1, although it is very close from 1 through 3. Hegarty drops from #1 to #5, partly because of his slight drop on the boards, but mostly because the 4 guys ahead of him all received signifcant boosts from their performances at the AAA game. Councell moved from a tie for #15 up to #10, and Hanratty plunged from #11 to a tie at #20 because of a huge Scout downgrade. Everyone else pretty much stayed the same.

New commit Chase Hounshell comes in at #16.
