So now that I am finished with all of the housekeeping for the 2010 Class, here are some obscure tidbits as well as some final meaningless numbers to contemplate for any stat geeks out there.

Total 2009 GH Recruit Profiles: 307

    Total ND Commits: 23

    Total non-ND committed profiles: 284

Total known non-ND commits: 259, 248 of whom signed LOI's.

The 11 verbals who did not sign LOIís:
    1) 4 of them are to Army & the Ivy League schools who do not sign LOIís
    2) 2 Walk-onís- Linton to Arkansas & Uher to Nebraska.
    3) 3 to schools where the recruit may not have signed an LOI because the scholarship offered was limited. Those 3 were Mangiarelli to Maine, Weiss to Southern Illinois, and Schofield to South Dakota.
    4) That leaves only 2 significant unsigned verbals, Seantrel Henderson & Latwan Anderson.

Total schools represented by the 259 non-ND commits: 83

Most commits to one school (other than ND): Florida with 13, surprisingly UCLA was next with 12. Last yearís #2 alternative Stanford had only 4 this year, which also shows how much Harbaugh has dumbed down Stanford recruiting.

250 of the 259 committed to FBS (Division I-A Teams)

226 of the 250 who committed to FBS Teams committed to BCS Conference Schools.

The Big 10 with 54 commits has the most of any BCS Conference.

The Mountain West Conference with 10 commits had the most of any non-BCS FBS conference.

Of the 9 commits which were not to FBS/I-A schools, 8 were to FCS/I-AA schools. The remaining one committed to a Div. II school. Quick- who was that? Iíll give you a clue. His brother is a GH member and OU commit in 2011.

Of the 25 recruits that we show no commitment for, 19 of them show no offers at all to any FBS/FCS schools, and there is no information to indicate they are playing football anywhere at the next level. Three of the 25, Matthew Jakubiec, Claude Johnson, and Kurt Killens were actually committed to FBS schools at one point in time but those offers were withdrawn and these three ended up nowhere instead on NSD. Two others, Earl Hines & James McConico had multiple FBS offers but also did not sign anywhere on NSD. McConico who had 10 FBS offers is the most curious of the recruits who did not commit anywhere as he had some pretty solid offers and was fairly heavily recruited early on.

Finally I have to wonder what happened to Zak Tait. Tait was a recruit who was very high on the Irish radar a few years ago, but he suffered a devastating knee injury in 2007 as a Junior and actually did a HS redshirt by purposefully holding himself back a year in school so that he could rehab and hopefully come back as a highly touted Senior. That did not quite work out as well as Zak hoped, but he did make it back for his Senior season in 2009, and actually picked up 2 offers, from Colorado & New Mexico. However, for whatever reason Zak apparently did not sign anywhere on NSD.
With those curious tidbits and meaningless stats aside, I now declare the 2010 recruiting class closed because quite frankly I could care less where Seantrel & Latwan end up.

I'm gonna say IUB is our 5* recruit here. Thanks IUB, and that isn't enough words. This is one of the best run message boards, hands down.

Thanks IUB. I only wish our recruiting haul ranked as high as your ranking vs recruiting coverage on any other site. For you, one man to organize all this information for us... thank you. Thanks also to zimmsburg, and probably 10 other of you guys which start and fill these recruiting threads (and premium tidbits) with great insight. At this time last year there were so many top recruits we felt we had a very good shot at. Losing and firing your coach prevented us from being a top 3 class but the effort here at GH was always there.
