Ranking the ND Commits Within the Class (2010)

    Register to remove this advertisement
This is a purely objective mathematical ranking of the current 14 verbal commits based on their relative rankings by Rivals/Scout/ESPN. This list does not take into account any subjective criteria such as positional need for the team, intangibles, etc.

I will update this list as the recruiting season goes on, rankings change, and additional verbals jump on board.

    1) Chris Martin
    2) Blake Lueders
    3) Alex Welch
    4) Daniel Smith
    5) Andrew Hendrix
    6) Christian Lombard
    7) Bennett Jackson
    8) Prince Shembo
    9) Kendall Moore
    10) Chris Badger
    11) Spencer Boyd
    12) Lo Wood
    13) Tommy Rees
    14) Justin Utupo
If I were to add some subjectivity to this list I would probably move Hendrix and Lombard ahead of Welch & Smith, and I would probably move Shembo ahead of Jackson. Otherwise I don't see any significant differences between the mathematical and the subjective results.

My subjective ranking (keep in mind im very glad with every single commit we have)
    1) Chris Martin
    2) Christian Lombard
    3) Blake Lueders
    4) Alex Welch
    5) Andrew Hendrix
    6) Daniel Smith
    7) Bennett Jackson
    8) Kendall Moore
    9) Prince Shembo
    10) Chris Badger
    11) Spencer Boyd
    12) Lo Wood
    13) Tommy Rees
    14) Justin Utupo

its tough to do cuz i think this entire class is pretty underrated at the moment. IMO the majority of these guys are solid four stars. If we add just a few more guys we are likely to land id rate this class way ahead last years class. I honestly rate this class almost at a par with last years class as it is right now.

I can't believe that Shembo is above Moore. Well at least I'm surprised.
If you're Lucky enough to be Irish, then you're Lucky enough.

Big time Irish fan I just signed on to this board. If you think right now this class is as good as last years class then thats impressive. Last years class is going to be really really strong.

Rankings are nice, but I love how a bunch of no-names (and no stars) from Univ of Cincinnati have had strong defenses the past two-three years. (not to mention a pretty good offense as well).
Recruit the right people, put them into the right position, no need to rush them w/ the depth we have and let them learn/develop, and then WHAM!!!....solid players as juniors/seniors.
We can have a great class with 2/3 top quality, and a 1/3 who will contribute when they are mentally and physically ready.
That said...I'd love to see us grab a certain WR that's out there.

Updated for the Jones commit & the latest board rankings.

Tai-ler is Top 100 on ESPN and close to that on both Rivals and Scout, which puts him into the #2 spot behind Chris Martin. Tai-ler is also the first ND commit in this class to be ranked higher than Martin on any board. Everyone else pretty much falls into line behind Martin and Jones the same way as on the previous update. The only other differences are Lombard jumping Badger, and Rees jumping Bennett Jackson.

    Code:
    1)	Chris Martin
    2)	Tai-ler	Jones
    3)	Andrew	Hendrix
    4)	Blake	Lueders
    5)	Alex	Welch
    6)	Christian	Lombard
    7)	Chris	Badger
    8)	Daniel	Smith
    9)	Prince	Shembo
    10)	Cameron	Roberson
    11)	Kendall	Moore
    12)	Spencer	Boyd
    13)	Lo	Wood
    14)	Tommy	Rees
    15)	Bennett	Jackson
    16)	Justin	Utupo

Updated for the Gio Bernard Commit.

Gio is a 4 star on all three boards and is ranked on both the Rivals 250 at #162, and on the Scout 100 at #88. These credentials place him in the #5 spot in these rankings.

    Code:
    1)	Chris Martin
    2)	Tai-ler	Jones
    3)	Andrew	Hendrix
    4)	Blake	Lueders
    5)	Gio	Bernard

    7)	Christian	Lombard
    8)	Chris	Badger

    16)	Bennett	Jackson
    17)	Justin	Utupo

Updated for the Toney Hurd Commit.

Toney is a 3 star on both Rivals and Scout. Rivals has him ranked slightly behind Spencer Boyd & Lo Wood, while Scout has him ranked slighty above both of them. ESPN has a much higher opinion of Toney as he is a 4 star Top 10 CB on their board and is ranked #120 in the country overall on the ESPN 150. These credentials place him in the #10 spot in these rankings.

    Code:
    1)	Chris Martin
    2)	Tai-ler	Jones
    3)	Andrew	Hendrix
    4)	Blake	Lueders
    5)	Gio	Bernard
    6)	Alex	Welch
    7)	Christian	Lombard
    8)	Chris	Badger
    9)	Daniel	Smith
    10)	Toney	Hurd
    11)	Prince	Shembo
    12)	Cameron	Roberson
    13)	Kendall	Moore
    14)	Spencer	Boyd
    15)	Lo	Wood
    16)	Tommy	Rees
    17)	Bennett	Jackson
    18)	Justin	Utupo
