Bruton received a cheap shot from Pitt OL that concussed him. It was helmet-to-helmet after the play was over. No idea he had been playing with a broken fibula.

Broncos safety David Bruton breaks leg, keeps playing

David Bruton might not be able to help the Broncos the rest of the season.

But he’s at least an example of sacrificing one’s self for the team.

Via Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said safety David Bruton Jr. broke his fibula early in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers and kept playing.

Bruton suffered the injury on the 15th defensive snap. He played 77 snaps of defense, and 18 snaps on special teams.

Of course, it will be far less charming if Bruton had suffered more serious damage while out there playing. When the league decided to create layers of punishment for teams that don’t follow injury protocols, it was with concussions in mind, but other problems would fall under the procedure as well.

Nope. Not even being discussed b/c everyone's obsessed with OBJ. Tim Hasselbeck is the only guy I've heard say it's one of six other that were just as bad, if not worse, than what Beckham did. I can't speak to the others, but the one on Bruton was pretty deliberate. I don't think the OL was aiming for Bruton (he was going after the DE who made the tackle), but he nailed him.
