Updated with latest rankings. There has been very little movement for ND commits since the last update of this on any of the three boards. The only change of any significance was Rivals dropping Cierre Wood from the #1 RB to the #3 RB. ND's recruiting class in the Team Rankings is currently #11 on Rivals and #14 on Scout which is a bit interesting since Scout actually has the individual ND recruits ranked higher overall. ESPN currently has ND with the #8 Class, but their ranking is more subjectively rather than quantitatively based.

I still can't understand why they dropped Cierre Wood from 1st to 3rd without him playing a down earlier,

There was some blue chip camp in July or August I think in Florida (the state not UF). A couple of other RBs got rave reviews over Wood.

As for ESPN they have maintained in writeups that Wood is NOT a premier RB but a Safety in-waiting ala Tony Driver and/or Jeff Burris both HS RBs of note. Burris was a goal line TB in Holtz's Full House Backfield and returned kicks but he received AA recognition as a Safety.

Wood was dropped based on RB DRILLS not game action.

7/20 TOP GUN TOP 11 Cierre Wood 6-0, 195, RB "The nation's top RB prospect has done nothing to disappoint in the camp. He's fought hard through some nagging minor injuries and shown no signs of weaknesses. The way he explodes when he takes off is a sight to see, and when he gets in a college weight program and fills into his great frame, he should be a deadly weapon in the ND offense."

TOP GUN RB Analysis PAISLEY, Fla. - Saturday night was about the introduction to the NFL style of coaching. Players were put through a specific set of agility drills that were position-specific. I hung with RB coach Lorenzo White and his highly talented RB corps.
Barry Every's Day One RB Evaluations:

Cierre Wood, 6-0, 195, RB Santa Clara (CA) Oxnard
"Assets: Wood looks like he was shot out of a cannon when he makes his initial burst forward.
What was most impressive at camp: In the hand eye coordination drill with Coach White, he looked like a professional juggler.
On the Hoof:He is a lean back with good height. Wood is almost built like a receiver and looks like he was born with a football in his hands."

Rivals also evaluated Bryce Brown (liked that his frame will support 225), Christine Michael,
Lache Seastrunk, Edwin Baker, and Chris Whaley running through a variety of RB DRILLS.

    "Best Back?"
Jamie Newberg says you can make a case for Brown, Richardson, Berry, Wood, Michael, and Baker. A couple of weeks into the season Newberg's switched from Brown to Richardson as #1.

as long as they can perform on the field i could care less where we rank. we need help in the kicking game so if one star translates into consistent 3's and deep kickoffs then i will be happy.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I think this season it shows how important it is to get a kicker, and after this years and last in the kicking game, i believe CW & staff have targeted a couple of kickers that will improve us. I just hope the improvement happens quickly.
