Prior is not an ND recruit but there are some who are saying that the way his recruiting goes in the next week may have a direct impact on ND’s chances with Chris Watt. On the surface that may seem odd since Prior is an OT prospect and Watt is an OG prospect, but it may be a function of the total amount of O-Line schollies that OSU is willing to give out this year. Prior was the most prominently mentioned recruit out of OSU’s weekend camp and the Buckeye staff was reportedly very impressed by him. The question that is left now is whether Chris Watt left Columbus being told that he has to make a choice soon or they will offer Prior, who apparently is expected to commit to the Buckeyes if he gets an offer, or did Watt leave Columbus uncommitted to the Buckeyes because he was told they liked Prior more. My guess is that it is the former and Watt has a window of time to decide whether he wants to be a Buckeye. If Watt shows up at ND this weekend and Prior has not yet been offered that does not necessarily mean that ND is now in the lead for Watt. It may simply mean that the OSU staff told Watt to take one more visit to South Bend to be sure. However, if Prior is offered by OSU sometime before next weekend that would surely seem to be good news for the Irish regarding our prospects with Watt.
Before this weekend and the prospect of a Buckeye offer loomed, Prior was considered to be heavily favoring FSU.

He obviously really enjoyed his visit to tOSU. Said he was going to commit early, but will now wait until he takes his officals. Plans to visit Florida State, Indiana, Marshall, Purdue & Wisconsin in the fall. Says Florida State is his top school at this time.

I heard Prior and Longo were the two most impressive linemen at camp. FWIW, John Martinez, the top 100 guard from Utah was there participating. That tells you the level that these two performed at.

Unless he gets an OSU offer in the interim, which I assume he will jump on. Prior does not sound too pleased that he left Columbus without an offer and is not so sure that he is in line to get one. That is not particularly good news for ND if completely true.

If the word is that this guy is a quality player, do you think there would be mutual interest between ND and Prior (provided he qualifies)?

Since Prior was not offered by OSU, yet, I would say so, and there are starting to be some rumblings to that effect.

He reiterated a top 5 of Florida State, West Virginia, Purdue, Indiana and Marshall. Said he was interested in Purdue and will visit FSU, Indiana, Ohio and possible Purdue soon.

Good stuff. IUB. It will be interesting to see how Prior and Watt are linked. If Prior gets offered you would think the "time table" on Watt would have expired, or he is leaning NDs way.

From what I gather, there's no chance Prior gets an offer from Ohio State now. He was still very impressive at camp, but apparently something happened after camp that caused the staff to sour on him A LOT.

His comments to the FSU people were sort of sour grapes. I'm positive those comments were not the reason for the OSU staff to sour on him, but rather the result of whatever happened.
