Offer #43 of the 2009 recruiting season goes to Stavion, who is a teammate of another offered, and committed elsewhere, recruit, Casey Pachall. Lowe now has offers from everyone on his Schools of Interest except Oklahoma & Texas Tech. No indication yet on whether he has any interest in the Irish offer, but Lowe has been a frequent visitor to a lot of campuses in Texas and the Deep South, and Scout lists him with High Interest in Texas A&M.

Very strong young man with a great frame- large enough now not to be pushed around, but long enough to add some more weight during his carreer.

Another school that Lowe says he plans to visit is Notre Dame and the Irish have already offered. "I don't think I'll have a chance to visit them this summer," he said. "But that's definitely a school I'd like to take an official visit to.

"They have a great head coach leading them and you can't go wrong with them," Lowe said. "Notre Dame has a rich tradition and even though they slipped a little last year I'm sure they'll get it back."

IMO I don't think he leaves the south and we're just a name on his list as of now.

Stavion makes his initial appearance in the Rivals 250 at #164. On Scout he drops a bit and is now listed there as a OG.

Don't give up on him so quick folks. The fact he is taking an official and hasn't commited yet is nice to hear.

According to Rivals' TN writer he's quoted as saying his favorite is the Vols.

Here's a whole free article with quotes about Lowe

That writer was talking about some guy named Low. We are recruiting the young man Stavion LOWE. Hopefully he and his family see what a great education he would recieve at Tenn. Not real hard to have spell check either for someone who is doing work and reports for a web site.

How embarrassing for UT!!? I mean wtf. His name is not exactly hard and at first I thought it was a typo but it was consistently wrong throughout. They must really be interested in him but not enough to actually know his name. Living in Tenn I have come to not like UT so much. Sickening puke orange hurts my eyes. People dressed up in all orange look ridiculous.

Lowe lists his favorites in no particular order as Tennessee, UCLA, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miami and Notre Dame. Tennessee is probably at the top right now as that is the only school he is planning on visiting this summer. However, he is definitely planning on taking all of his Official Visits this Fall before making a decision. ND will almost certainly be one of those 5 visits. No Texas schools help out here and Oklahoma has not even offered. Lowe seems to really like the SEC schools, but even there Alabama & Florida have not offered. Miami and UCLA have also not offered him yet, so ND is one of only 4 schools in his favorites that have actually offered him. Still, his trip to South Bend will have to be a great one for this kid to head up this way, but at the very least it looks like the Irish will be in on this one for the duration.

Lowe may be turning into my least favorite recruit. He's on an Alabama site quoted as saying his favorite schools are in the SEC. Now he has an Alabama and a LSU offer and an upcoming visit. Yes, every article I've read is from that local team's site, but it sure seems like he'll tell everybody that they're his favorite program today.

The somewhat common malady among HS recruits often known as Sweat/Beal syndrome. Unfortunately, the condition is incurable and the prognosis fatal.

IUB you yourself wrote on your May 29,2008 post #14 in this thread. That Lowe really seems to like the SEC. His top teams are Tenn, Ala, Fla, Aub, Ole Miss, UCLA, Okla, Miami, and ND. UCLA, Okla, and Miami have not offered. So besides the SEC the only other favorite is ND. Why is it a surprise that he is favoring the SEC teams ?

We've been lucky with the south I feel...so we can't expect to get them all... but we do well in sec country...

Who said it was a surprise Dayton? If you are referring to my Sweat/Beal syndrome remark, that was related to Golden Shower pointing out that it seems like Lowe will tell everybody that they're his favorite program today.

Awfully snippy tonight aren't we. :groucho:

Hey Dayton, not sure if you're point was aimed at me. If so, apologies. Here's a Yahoo sports free line that sums up Lowe to me, "I don't have one specific favorite, day after day I feel like I like different schools.

Rivals lists him with both a UCLA and Miami offer. Along with those other non-SEC schools, he's made individual comments about his love for Houston, Kansas, TAMU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Ok State, and ND. So the same day his Alabama comments emerged, there's a new LSU article with him claiming how he's probably taking an LSU official (today). The day after he's in Knoxville newspapers claiming UT is his favorite, he's telling ND sites how he has no favorites. This was after claiming he was going on a spring break visit to USC. So, yes - I do think he says whatever pleases and I wouldn't bank on his committment until February.

No apoligies needed. When it comes to recruiting there is so much info out there I don't know what tobelieve alot of times. I do look around but (and please don't tell him) but I do wait to get IUB input before I get to excited or upset or whatever. Oh and IUB if you read this stoney made me compliment you. Just sayin.

Lowe says he will take his visits, enjoy the process, and wait until the end to decide.

IUB, do you think their is legitimate interest there? Or are we on the outside looking in on this one? From what I have seen it seems he will play in the SEC, and ND is just another school on his long list of offers.

At this point I say outside looking in, but he is planning on taking an Official Visit to ND, so he could still be won over.

Well it didn't take too long for that to change. In what is no surprise at all Stavion has changed his mind and will no longer be taking his Official Visits. He expects to make a decision shortly between LSU, Oklahoma, and Auburn, with LSU the favorite.

This should take them out of the Nixon sweepstakes.

Well on second thought the are part of the SEC and we all know how they can magically make things happen with numbers.

And don't you forget it. Something tells me they'd magically lose a scholly of a committed player or even a player on roster if the numbers were over and Nixon wanted on board.

It doesn't hurt us with Nixon that LSU is filling up their OL, but I honestly don't see LSU as the big competition here.

Reason for his coommittment. Lowe says everything "just felt comfortable" when he visited earlier this year. He also says that the atmosphere around Baton Rouge played a big role, as he feels he will be able to stay entertained even when the season is over. He is done with recruiting.

Good luck to him....but why do these guys say that they are going to announce on NSD or at the All-American games, then come out now. I realize that there are special circumstances in some cases, but not in most of them. Be a man and tell it like it is....!!!

maybe he honestly thought he would wait, but as the recruiting process went on it started to wear on him and LSU was a good fit and he jumped on it

can't say I blame him, the phone ringing all the time and recruiting services bugging the shit out of you after you go for a visit, or even rumored to have gone on a visit. I would commit as soon as I found a place that felt "right" too if I was going through what these guys are going through
