In a move that is bound to piss off fellow LSU verbal Russell Shepard, Chris Garrett has switched his committment from Mississippi State to LSU.

Shepard did not commit to Texas because Mack Brown already had a committment from a Pro-Style QB, Garrett Gilbert. He then verbals to LSU because he wants to play QB in college, and after the verbal is given the impression that he will be an LSU QB. Miles then accepting a verbal from Chris Garrett is bound to concern Shepard, whose commit to LSU is generally considered shaky to begin with.

This is a curious move by Miles because there is a very good possibility that it will result in the loss of arguably the best athlete in the Class of 2009. Hopefully, if Shepard de-commits LSU, he will head to Texas or Oklahoma, and not north towards scUM.

Shepard has openly stated that he doesn't care how many QBs LSU takes this year.
