Well Scout has done it again and now lists Kenny as having an ND offer! Where do these guys get their info.? I checked B&G and it doesn't list an offer. This has just changed too. As of two days ago, Scout still listed him as having no offer from the Irish!

I thought he was a WR...but I dont think he has an offer...never heard it mentioned...

Rivals has had Tate as having an offer forever, but the II mods have acknowledged on many occasions that Tate has never received a written offer from the Irish, and even if one is forthcoming, it is hard to fathom that it would happen before Butler's Saturday announcement.

B&G is a better source on the offers than Scout & Rivals, but the best source is actually Gold Helmet because we confirm all of the other sources before we list someone as having an offer. As of right now, Kenny Tate does not have an ND offer. Young Irish, you are right about Tate being recruited as a WR. I will correct that.

You're right. I'm on that.

As for scout... their database has a rather deplorable track record. Brandon Newman was high on Kentucky up to the day that he committed to Notre Dame. There's an immense quantity of gaffs that transpire in their database, but to list all of them would detract from the thread.

As for Tate, IMO the only way something goes down with ND is if we get to a 3rd tier of WR offers. We'd have to brick on Butler and perhaps Baldwin, as well as a 2nd wave of offers for the likes of Harper and Walker, before we stepped our game up for Tate.

LOL - 1 minute too late.

I may be reading too much into this but one of the recruiting insiders posted a very cryptic comment today that I am interpreting as Kenny Tate might also be finally getting a written ND offer. If nothing happens in the next two weeks, I am probably reading it wrong.

Thanks. I desire doom for all of the above except Maryland. They doom themselves enough as it is.

with the WRs that illinois has, and is still getting, I would guess that they are off the list, especially after they just got a transfer from Fla, but he has to sit a year, but I would say that this is between Penn State, Fla and Maryland.

Walker's decision might impact his decision too, if Walker picks PSU.

Pure guess, I would say he picks Home State U over the dick and his cookouts

in one of Jonas Gray's diary entries, he said that him and Dayne were talking about whether or not more offers would be going out to his teammate Kenny Demens or WR - Kenny Tate, who they both said was very interested in ND.

With G-Rob going to ASU, does this mean we might send out an offer to Tate esp after the good week he had at the AA gm?

Tate isn't going to get an offer now, ND has 4 WRs in this class

Unless someone bolts, and even if that does happen, I still can't see Tate getting an offer from ND

ND only has 3 WRs in this class. Floyd, Goodman, and Walker. Robinson chose ASU.

i was trying to correct ya for like 10 mins lol, but the site was acting up and I could post my reply.

Either way, I understand what you mean, but Tate would be a great addition no doubt. Not sure what his grades look like though. Either way I was looking for a reply from someone with a little insight not you marv, no offense, like IUB?

how can I not take offense to that.

Yeah i fucked up on the # of WRs ND has, but all it takes is a little thinking on our parts for this.

ND has 3 WRs verballed right now, their current roster looks like this for WR

24 Brandon Erickson WR So. 3V 6-0/185 Marlboro, NJ (Marlboro)
21 Barry Gallup Jr. WR So. 5-11/185 Wellesley, MA (Belmont Hill)
11 David Grimes WR Jr. 1V 5-10/177 Detroit, MI (DePorres)
1 D.J. Hord WR Jr. 1V 6-1/196 Lee's Summit, MO (Rockhurst)
80 Richard Jackson WR So. 6-3/204 Clermont, FL (East Ridge)
18 Duval Kamara WR Fr. HS 6-4/222 Hoboken, NJ (Hoboken)
82 Robby Parris WR So. 1V 6-3/209 Olmstead Falls, OH (St. Ignatius)
45 Kris Patterson WR Jr. 2V 5-11/185 Seattle, WA (O'Dea)
38 Nick Possley WR Sr. SQ 6-0/208 Wheaton, IL (Warrenville South)
29 Jake Richardville WR Jr. 2V 6-1/180 Fort Wayne, IN (Bishop Dwenger)
23 Golden Tate WR Fr. HS 5-11/188 Hendersonville, TN (Pope John Paul II)
85 Sam Vos WR . 5-10/199 Burlington, WI (The Gilman School)
19 George West WR So. 1V 5-10/197 Spencer, OK (Northeast Academy)

he isn't getting an offer, but I understand wanting to hear it from IUB officially

I think 4 WR's in this class is overcrowding. 3 ELITE already and they are all different from eachother.

well with the rumblings about some of the older WRs maybe looking elsewhere, your theory wont really mean anything esp since we were obv going hard after both GRob and Dwalk and both would've been accepted with open arms.

Ziggy,
IUB stated that a bunch of older WR's were looking around, and then didn't elaborate??

No disrespect, but I find that hard to believe. He is usually the first to caution people about rumoring with no basis (well, expect for the really good rumors about Urbie and the nasty shenanigans going on in Gainesville)

If the coaches truly would take commitments from both Walker and Robinson to go with Goodman and Floyd speaks volumes as to what they think of the current roster. With the year Kamara had, CW probably having a plan for Golden after watching Pats film (WELKER!!), and Floyd's arrival there is going to be limited snaps to go around.

Regardless of what happened with Walker today, Tate was not getting an offer. Demens is more likely to get an offer than Tate, and that is also very unlikely.

I have no idea what you are talking about here. Is this a reference to the "older WR's" that I see mentioned in some of these posts as I take it being possible transfers. If so, you have me mistaken for someone else. My only comments on possible transfers were related to the potential of Prince transferring to Mizzou, I never talked about anyone else in particular or any positions that might be affected.

whoever said it, i swore it was you was talking about WRs. I added the older players meaning upperclassmen. if it wasn't you then so be it, but all I really wanted was to know if anything was going to happen on the Tate or Demens front. Then it turned into something bigger than it should've been. it's a message board, people can say whatever they want, but I was basically asking IUB from the get go.

whoever said it made it look like there may be WRs looking around. I swore it was IUB that's why I said him and I was too lazy to look around, but I dont think that's stirring up rumors b/c he didnt name any names for that reason.

Verballed to Maryland. I am happy for him. I am also glad he did not go to the other 4 schools that were in his top 5.

Tate, a recruiting target for many of the nation’s top college football programs, had pared his list in recent weeks to Maryland, Illinois and Penn State, cutting Florida, Tennessee and Ohio State from consideration. He eliminated Penn State a few days ago, and then, barely 24 hours before he was scheduled to make his televised announcement Thursday evening, he sat down with his parents and came to a final decision.

Good luck Kenny!
