I don't know, is there some unwritten code that ND has to be in the Top 10 of these most elite recruits for them to think they need more exposure. After not even mentioning Notre Dame this year, all of a sudden TJ Bryant has cut his college choices to a Top 10, and lo & behold, the Irish made the cut. These wonders never cease to amaze me.

Link to free Scout article on TJ's Top 10.

IUB I thought you were going to be gone for a while? Anyway yeah he is just tossing a big time name in there so he can have an even 10. No visit, no mention of a visit, certainley no official and he's not coming up this summer. By the end of next week we could have up to 4 DB commits.

No, I'm just bored sitting in a hotel in South Bend, finally was able to get to a computer. Spent a few hours on campus and at the Grotto thinking good wishes about Floyd's and Brown's and McCarthy's and other such things.

To be fair, I've heard him mention the Irish before. Said some nice things about the coaching staff and the direction of the program. But beyond that, we're just a name on his list, not a viable option. He's not fooling anybody.

It's one of those 'The name is important so I list it'

2nd big pickup and big surprise of the day for USC. Bryant had been expected from the get go to stay in his home town with FSU. This was another dagger in a FSU class that once looked like it was headed to #1. Among the recruits they ended up not getting that they were once favored for were Bryant, Brice Butler, and Deion Walker.

You're right Zig, there is a few more as well that looked like FSU or de-committed. I can't think of all of them off the top of my head. Steven Robinson who is a HS teammate of Bryant is another one. FSU started out on fire, but came whimpering to the finish line.

is Kyle Long still going to FSU? I know it's for baseball, but someone said to me today that he might be thinking about playing football (even though he's def getting drafted w/his 96 mph fastball)

As far as I know, Long is till going to play baseball at FSU.

One other at one time FSU de-commit was A.J., who finally and inexplicably made it back to them in the end.
