You guys will love the quotes from Rudolph and Newman in step 2. Agree w/ most the article except for step 5 reconnecting w/ Ara era. This guy must have got that garbage idea from the tools at notredamefans.com who think we need to bring back that offense and probably even put receivers back in sprinter stances.

I would say he was refering more to mind set...his teams always went into a game with no doubt that they would win and most often did

Two thoughts after reading this:
I think it's very impressive that these kids are already acting as ambassadors to the university. This class is special, both in the sheer amount of talent they possess, as well as their dedication to ND. When you read quotes like: "If there's any doubt in his mind at all... he's not for Notre Dame.” coming from a recruit, you can tell they get it.

As far as reconnecting to Ara's era, I wasn't around back then but, I imagine winning will go a long way towards fixing that "problem". People didn't complain about Charlie and his "jersey attitude" publicly until this year. IMO he's done an excellent job connecting with players of the Holtz era, and that's good enough in my book.

I can't say I disagree we need to have the past players at games if for no other reason to help them understand some of what their fighting for

I remember Ara's teams. He is my favorite ND coach and restored the ND program to its former greatness. I do not know what he means by his reconnecting comment but I do know he has talked to and has the gretaest repect for ARA and Lou.

CW is a ND grad and he knows what is special about it. It is obviuos in his first 3 classes that he has recruited that he is getting it across to the recruits. He will win big.

Brandon Newman said. “We kind felt like if he did come back to Notre Dame after that, it would be kind of weird. We have a big thing after you commit, you should stick with it. After he kind of pulled back, we don't know he's for us. If there's any doubt in his mind at all -- and no bad stuff against him -- but he's not for Notre Dame.”

Added tight end recruit Kyle Rudolph, “I think everybody was skeptical with Omar's decision. They said he really wasn't ready when he made his decision. Everybody's kind of feeling the same way. If you're not ready, there's no reason to commit. When I committed, I knew that was what I wanted to do. I didn't take any visits after that. I cut off all communications. When people call and try to change your mind, it’s real simple, you hang up.”

Awesome quotes. As I posted on Brandons thread, he impressed me greatly when he did what Rudolph suggested above. He turned away UK's Rich Brooks who visited his school a few weeks back. He turned away a guy he respects very much, from the team he cheered the most -- until ND arrived on the picture. These are big steps by young men that all too many recruits aren't willing to take.

I came here in the way of NotreDameFans.com, still a mod there actually. Who exactly are these "tools" you are referring too? I guess since it's plural, then that includes me and everybody there? That's awfully big of ya' to go around and trash other fans and the website, especially when I'm sure I've never read a post that says we need to bring back Ara's offense on NotreDameFans.com.....

Kids, what will we do with them? Hey if you can find that discussion CU, please feel free to provide that link.

Well forgive me if you took the plural tools to refer to everyone when that is not what was implied, sorry. I didn't want to take the time to type all the screen names of the "tools" I'm referring to. There are still some good people there I'm sure.
I've wasted enough time in my life to fall upon and read the ridiculous posts I'm referring to once and I'm not going to again. Those who know me know I wouldn't make stuff up.
I came to GH as a refugee from notredamefans.com b/c the football thread was mostly nothing but negative venom towards CW coming from 3 people who seemed to be the only ones posting. One of these people would post the emails he received from somebody regarding it like it was from the ghost of Rockne himself, and these emails were always about how CW is an idiot and he should do a,b,c,d, and e just like Pagna and Ara. I'm sorry but any "forum" that only portrays one side of things and degrades people of the other opinion is hardly a "forum"
Here at GH, CW is not immune to his fair share of criticism, but you won't find three people dominating every thread into CW's an idiot and act like they know more about football then he.
As far as how big I am to trash your site here, I'd be more then happy to do it there, but all my attempts at supporting CW there and trying to provide insight from somebody who has played the game in this decade was met with fierce bullying and ignorance. Personally I'd like to meet some of those people in person and have some dialogue but then again I don't want to sound like on of those internet tough guys who hide behind a keyboard and a screen name.

So again sorry if I offeneded you. However if you are not ndnate there and are one of the guys I'm referring too then I am not.

me and nate are cool. As ND fans/Chicago Bears fans we both have a lot of frustration built up. I now know he is not one of the guys I was referring to.
