Jenkins is still talking about taking an Official Visit to ND in the Fall.
Maybe he can come at the same time as Khaled Holmes and they can bunk together.

The way I've heard it described to me, Josh has more interest than those around him, and they're trying to run some interference between ND and Josh. Anyone have more concrete knowledge than mine (which practically waffles on it's own)?

If Robinson hops on board, I don't think Jenkins has a spot anyway. Unless something drastic happens with our last 6 spots (max), I'm think that there is no room at the inn.

agreed. T-Rob is a better prospect, imo, too. the only other OL i could see jumping on board AT ALL would be patchan.... and this is a very low probability.
once T-Rob finalizes ND as his school, forst is out of the fold as well.

I'm not saying this isn't a moot point. Trevor will most likely end any debate about OL recruiting outside of Patchan. But he's not in the fold just yet, and the staff does have a way of pursuing guys that we didn't think they would (Kapron Lewis-Moore, as an example).

Calves, I heard the story a while back about someone in Jenkins camp trying to keep ND away from him. I don't know how much truth there is to it. I don't think the staff is all that interested in Jenkins anyway, most of this recent interest seems to be one-sided, and all of that is probably just for show. Jenkins is going to take his 5 Official Visits, including possibly ND, and then he will try to commit to OSU, and if they don't have room for him at that point, he will just end up back with HomeState U. Everything else is just posturing.

Don't you think that could be in an effort to make sure that defections at the last moment don't make much of a difference? I mean, say one of our OL defects, who that would be I can't imagine they all seem strong ND, if they are still courting JJ, then he could slip in at the last minute. I think that this holds true for several of the guys out there. I don't see the class having any defections at this point, but best to keep the guys interested, just in case it does!!!

Another thing to keep in mind about Jenkins is that he's also a top notch defensive player as well. When it looked like Kyle Long was going to choose football, a lot of people were wondering if Jenkins would switch over to DT when/if he comes to Ohio State. He's a ridiculous athlete with really good strength numbers, so it wouldn't surprise me if ND is possibly looking at him at one of the dline positions(I think he could play DE or NT in a 3-4 simply because of his size and athleticism).

napoleonbuck, Do you really think we need another dt. ng. in this class with the commits we already have

with RR departure....JJ back in play for us?
or is it OSU all the way for JJ?
(if JJ goes to OSU that would be a stellar OL haul for the bucknuts.)

JJ has been one of my faves all year way back to his "I am solidly committed to WVU, but I am going to consider OSU anyway" comment from last February.
He is already at it again, saying that he is sorely disappointed with RR for leaving WVU, and he is disturbed that a coach would leave when he has been telling recruits all along that he was going nowhere. Then in the next breath he says that he will seriously consider scUM now. Like I said, one of my favorites this year.:D
In any case, IMO this just completes Jenkins to OSU if there was ever really any doubt that OSU is where he would end up.

Josh Jenkins waiting on coaching decision at West Virginia
Guard / defensive tackle Josh Jenkins is "on the fence" about playing for West Virginia after former head coach Rich Rodriguez left for Michigan, the Charleston Daily Mail reports.
Ohio State and Florida State are each being considered by Jenkins, along with Pittsburgh and Penn State, who recently entered the mix. His commitment was more of the "soft" variety even before Rodriguez's departure.

That's not something any guy wants to read about himself. His commitment was more of the "soft" variety. Bet he's got all the ladies beatting down his door. :D

Jenkins has finally made it official that he is de-committed from WVU. Claims to be now considering OSU, FSU, Pitt, and PSU. The only way he does not end up at OSU is if Tressell turns him away.

Hold on a sec, now that WVU has made the "right hire", Jenkins is now once again considering them. This kid is a real piece of work. His commit to anyone will mean absolutely nothing until NSD.

Sorry, who is this thread about (I am admittedly a little confused):
-Josh Barksdale
-Joseph Jenkins
Wait for the commitment (at the AA game??).............

b)"the University of OSU"

although any and all references to Joe Barksdale, (who BTW is now a Right Offensive Tackle for TUOLSU) are always welcome and sure to bring a chuckle...

Jenkins pulls a surprise and stays with HSU.

good luck to him, I think keeping Bill Stewart was a big reason he stayed with WVU

I don't think there is any other reason than Stewart. If DickRod was still there, Jenkins would have been a Buckeye.
