Walker- #25 WR-
Goodman- #51 WR-:confused::confused:
Rudolph- #1 TE
Robinson- #1 OG
I believe Goodman will be one of those undervalued steals in a few years. He is too versatile to be left on the bench. Must be accounted for throwing, catching or running when he is on the field. Not sure why walker is so low as well.

Because you're making sense. Think irrational and then you'll be able to figure it out.

I think one lost in all of this big-time recruit was Fauria who ended up Rivals #7 TE

I didn't notice that. Last time they ranked him as an OT. I'll add him to the list.

Clelland ends up as the #19 OT. Even with the big drop he finished ahead of Art Forst.

First post updated as Cave & Golic's position # are finalized on Rivals. For comparison, I added the position rankings for Scout & ESPN as well. Scout's rankings are final, ESPN usually makes changes right up to NSD.

EJ finishes as the #2 SDE on Rivals without playing even one entire game the entire season.

Cwynar, Newman, and Hafis Williams Rivals Position rank are finalized.
Newman picks up his 4th star on Rivals, but is still rated lower at his position by Rivals than Scout or ESPN.
ESPN actually rates this trio much higher than either Scout or Rivals.

Good to see McDonald quite a few spots ahead of sweat. :D Wasnt he thought more highly of earlier? not talking about in his own mind haaa

Both are 5.8s, so the difference between the two is negligible. Though in fairness to Sweat, he played through injuries almost his entire senior season.
Honestly, the ability of linebackers really depends on coaching IMO. Don't get me wrong, there are some athletic freaks and some linebackers with incredible intuition, but most linebackers at major college programs are of similar size and athleticism. Coaching and system is what separates them. If you have a good system in which a kid can develop, that's more important than how good they were coming out of high school.

The development of any player is going to depnd a lot on coaching no matter what position you play.

Also helps if you have a good strong D line to free you up to be able to make the plays.

Rivals has never rated Sweat very highly, he may have been in one of the R250's, but is not in the last one. ESPN was the one who always had him in the elite group, and to a lesser extent Scout. Sweat ended up #98 on Scout, and #48 on the ESPN 150. Actually his teammate, another LB Mike Yancich is rated higher than Sweat overall, and is ranked ahead of him by both Rivals & Scout.

Penn state fans love that, though they like to ignore the fact that Penn State offered Sweat way before they offered Yanich, and only offered Yanich when Sweat appeared to be heading elsewhere.

I don't care what you say though PSU develops linebackers better than any other team in the country so they could turn Yanich into a better LB than Sweat

Besides Posluszny who has P.S. developed into an nfl LB lately ? Conner doesn't count he isn't playing in the nfl right now.

Justin Kurpeikis, Brandon Short, Lavaar Arrington, Tim Shaw come off the top of my head.....Sean Lee will be breaking Connors all time tackle record next year also and he'll be going to the NFL. Lets not pretend Penn State isn't Linebacker U because you don't like them. When I think of good linebackers I think of Penn State and Florida State....and sometimes Ohio State.

Dan Conner was also a 5 star recruit, so no talk about taking 2/3 star recruit and turning out NFL quality with him. Poluszny actually was a 3*. I'm with IK, though, PSU does have a tradition at LB.

I'm not pretending that PSU doesn't put out top quality LB. The names you put forth answered my question. I don't pay alot of attention to what happens to PSU players unless they play for my Lions in the nfl. and as we all know Detroit doesn't exactly make you think of alot of quality players.

That's fine. They definitely churn out good linebackers and they spot linebacking talent when they see it, which is why it's telling IMO that they offered Sweat before Yanich. That tells me who the coaches think is more talented.
Besides, I think Ohio State knows a thing or two about developing linebackers...
