Jessamen picked up an Irish offer today, one of more than 10 that he has received in the past 10 days. His other offers are from UF, FSU, FAU, USF, UCF, Miami, UGA, ECU, LSU, and USCe. 6 Florida schools among his 11 offers. Dunker is a converted basketball player who played his first year of football in 2010. He also grew up in Georgia so one of the Floirda schools is not neccesarily a lock here.

It has barely been a month since Boynton Beach (FL) offensive tackle Jessamen Dunker came to the attention of college coaches, but the 6-foot-6, 315-pounder is already up to 20 offers.
“It’s great, I’m really excited about how my recruitment has taken off,” Dunker said. “Colleges have talked to my coach and he says it’s going to get worse by the time I become a senior. So I’m just getting ready for it.”
The prospect that has offers from Florida, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and many more top programs will continue to land offers. The latest this past week were Louisville and Vanderbilt. With each offer, it’s another set of coaches to talk to and an even larger group of media outlets wanting Dunker’s opinion on the latest offer.
“I’m handling it pretty well,” Dunker said quietly. “It gets tiring to a point with all the calling coaches and interviews and stuff, but I’m giving my mind a rest over weekends, so it’s going good.”
Though the pace can be hectic for a prospect like Dunker, it is still a decision he does not seem to be in a hurry to make.
“Right now I’m just going day by day,” Dunker explained. “All the offers came in so early and there are more offers coming, so I just want to get all the offers and then see where I want to commit to.”
While there is not timeline for a commitment from Dunker, a school has grabbed his attention early with others trailing close behind.
“Right now Florida really stands out,” Dunker said. “I went to their junior day a couple weeks ago. They impressed me a lot. I’ve been talking to coach (Will) Muschamp and all the coaches and I really like their school.
“UGA, just because it’s my home state, I really like UGA. So I got to learn more about it, it’s one of my top schools too, and Auburn, LSU.”
A spring break trip to start March 14 to see Alabama, Auburn, UGA and Florida is in the works for Dunker, but not set in stone right now trying to figure out transportation to the schools. Other than the Florida visit, the only other visit Dunker has made was to a Miami junior day.
When the time comes for Dunker to make a commitment he knows what he is looking for in the school of his choice.
“Just the bond I have with the school, with like the coaches and team,” Dunker said. “How the community supports the football team, and academics is a big thing with me. It’s really I just want to find somewhere I’m comfortable at and where the coaches can get me better.”
Away from the recruiting madness Dunker is working towards next fall where his time on the field looks to be increasing.
“Really I’m just working on my endurance,” Dunker said. “Coach (Rick) Swain said he will be playing me on defense also, so I’ll have to be in the game most of the time. Just really working on my footwork and pass protection, things like that.”
That size and footwork are what separates Dunker from many offensive linemen and it is something he understands.
“Oh it’s my size, my size, how mobile I am on the field, how explosiveness I am, great footwork,” Dunker said of himself. “Coaches have been talking about how they like my length, my knee bend, my aggressive streak, just things like that.”
When coaches mention those characteristics in a offensive tackle prospect, it usually means they have offered. That explains how Dunker became the hottest name in recruiting circles in just four weeks.

Who are your top 5 players OVERALL in SoFLA for 2012 and which position is the strongest and the weakest down here?
I’m only allowed five? How about (in alphabetical order) Jessamen Dunker OT Boynton Beach, Jelani Hamilton DL St. Thomas Aquinas, Tracy Howard CB Miramar, Duke Johnson RB Norland, Pat Miller OT Dwyer.
Offensive line and defensive backs are two strong groups at the top, but quickly fall off when it comes to overall depth. The wide receiver position is deep, but lacking in many top-flight prospects. Linebacker and defensive line are very thin in numbers this year to date.
Although very early, which in-state school do you think is leading the pack in SoFLA recruiting for 2012 so far?
A school to watch closely moving forward is Florida. They lead for talented Miramar corner Tracy Howard and massive Boynton Beach offensive tackle Jessamen Dunker.
How would you rank Jessamen Dunker (Boynton Beach), Avery Young (Palm Beach Gardens), and Patrick Miller (Dwyer)?
Let me preface this by saying I have yet to see Dunker perform other than his highlight, while I’ve seen both Young and Miller several times in games, camps and practices. If you know me, you know I hate basing rankings off a highlight and never seeing a kid strap the pads on for four full quarters on Friday night.
That said I’m still going with Dunker due to his massive size (6’6” 315), how light he is on his feet and the fact this was his first year playing football. Next, I would go with Miller for his above average technique, aggressive playing style and above average athleticism. Young is super athletic, has an impressive frame, but lacks consistency in the game missing blocks he shouldn’t at times.
All three are top-flight offensive linemen that I would take all three on my team in a heartbeat though.

Jessamen has named a top five of Bama, LSU, UGA, Florida and Auburn. He has Florida and UGA on top of his list. Also stated, he'll be staying in the SEC. Plans to unofficially visit his top five again this summer.
Food thread!!............
