I got some highlights from a local kid named Mishak Rivas (Class of 08). I'm surprised that this kid hasn't blown up, but chances are its a size thing (he's probably no bigger than Carlton Thomas). At any rate, I feel obligated to try to get his name out there.
I've seen this kids play since he was a freshman (my gf's high school) and even though I only saw Bradley Stephens (A&M class of '07 commit who I believe received an offer from the Irish) once, I was more impressed with Rivas.
Although this area (Deep South Texas) does not produce very many D1 prospects, the stats are quite impressive. Also, he plays in 5A, which is the largest classifcation in Texas. I would even say, as an avid from the area of both these prospects, Rivas played in the tougher division and on a team that runs 85% of the time....meaning the opposing defenses were often stacking 8-9 players in the box. Over ten yards a carry as a sophomore and junior (2nd team all state in rb in Texas mind you), i think this kid has d1 sleeper wriiten all over him. Take a look at his highlight film, I think its entertaining
Anyway, the point of this post is to gauge the opinions of fellow recruitniks who undoubtedly watch a lot of film. What do you guys think? Is it worth sending to Rivals/Scout? Opinions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks guys.
