in addition to the 19 we have now, i think we end up with, with chronological order of commit date:

20 J Brown (on visit)
21 R Williams (on visit)
22 T Robinson (before his senior season starts)
23 E Sabino (after official in fall)
24 M Floyd (AA/ESPN Game)

ranking this class right up there with recruiting classes of 90 and 87 IMO.

20 Jeremy Brown
21 Ryan Williams
22 Etienne Sabino
23 Michael Floyd
24 Trevor Robinson
and maybe its just a wish..a very large wish..but 25 Marcus Fortson..man I want that guy..I know we already have alot of great DT's..but man o man is he a player..and if we do take 26..Baldwin...Im not a fan of bringing back the 5th year players as you can see..

i almost put Forston in there myself...i think its 50-50 ND vs. UM...epsecially with Corwin focused like a laser beam recruiting him till LOI day as our D is full now (except Sabino) we do have a punchers chance with him and CB has shown he can bring em in.
but i think he ends up staying home after a lot of soul searching.

Yea I would def. say its 50-50 with UM...but I just think if anyone can pull him out of Miami it has to be Corwin...do you think with Ian Williams, Brandon Newman, Omar Hunter, and if just if we pull in Marcus Forston we would play a little 4-3 on defense also..or is Forston maybe a DE in a 3-4..just seems like we have alot of noseguards and only one spot for all of them...but I like having the rotation..Florida perfected the rotation on their defensive line this year and dominated OSU b/c of it..

Jeremy is a fine, very fine football player. But isn't he a corner? I think that ND looks good at DB for the next couple of years. I would rather have another WR, Forston or even Aurthur Brown.

He has speed though...we need speed...if were gonna compete in the future we have to have that speed either burning people for TD's at WR...or shutting people down at CB...plus I heard McNeil will be gone for a year b/c of his major..Also, Im hoping on Aug. 1st Brice Butler pulls a shocker and picks ND

every guy we're recruiting runs a 4.5 or better. Jeremy, at 4.45 is not the fastest of the bunch. In fact, the tallest, strongest recruit is also the fastest, 4.4. Floyd first, and then Baldwin.

Back on topic...

19. Jeremy Brown
20. Trevor Robinson
21. Michael Floyd
22. Etienne Sabino
23. Carlton Thomas
24. NSD/AAA Game surprise - applicants include T.J. Bryant, Matt Patchan, Jonathan Baldwin, and Marcus Forston. And if you held a gun to my head saying, "take a guess right now!" I'd go with Baldwin.

This is all just guesswork.

Someone negative rep me for that. For shame . Thats what happens when your internet goes down for 24 hours - you lose your mind and the ability to count.

Then go right ahead and lop off # "24". My surprise is ruined!

Sabino, Floyd, Brown, Robinson, and the first RB to commit. I'm still not sure about Baldwin, I don't know if we'll have room.:(

No Brown? I LOVE the list, but methinks Mr. Brown is going to be Irish. I also think that Baldwin goes down in flames if that happens. Then again, maybe we take 25. That would shock us all, but who know what CW is thinking.

i would say Hunter is definitely gonna play NG in the 3-4 no matter if Forston comes or not, and if by the grace of God and all things holy we got Forston, he is to me defintiely a DE in the 3-4 or a 4-3. i dont htink he is a DT in a 4-3, some do though. Forston is cat-quick for such a big dude, his tapes are unreal, he can get really get after it, i was shocked how fast, quick and strong he looked agianst top level Florida talent. kid just swats guys out of his way like tackling dummies and wreaks havoc in the backfield. i think brown will definitely give all sorts of looks on D and 4 down lineman is no stretch at all IMO...

No RB? See....we can go crazy with all the speculation. It's almost a blessing (sorry bubba) that ZF did transfer.

After watching all the running back tapes I gotta say I like Ryan Williams..I know alot of people like Thomas because of his explosiveness...but it just looks like Ryan Williams has a special talent..i really think after his mom and his visit he will verbal..

I agree Young Irish. I really believe Ryan Williams will commit. Carlton Thomas plans to decide in October, I believe if he really wanted to get on board he would've found a way to make an unofficial before things got tight. Now with Ryan Williams coming, we might as well say farewell to Carlton Thomas.

20) Jeremy Brown (He can play Nickelback CB which we need. He can play slot receiver because by the time he gets here Grimes will be a Sr. and West will be a Jr. and you DON'T expect him to play as a Fr. Golden is the only other scat type receiver. Don't worry people he's a player WE NEED and can seriously do evverrytthiingg we need.)

21) Etienne Sabino (WE NEED OLB'S, Badly I might add. We have been bringing in ILB's like crazy like Nagel, McDonald, Poz., Paskorz, Filer and we need to start piling up OLB prospects like that not to mention that the OLB types we're bringing in are converted DE's and Sabino will be the first LB. He's the real deal and has offers from everywhere in the country. If he doesn't fall completely in love with Butch Davis I think he'll end up here.)

22) Trevor Robinson (Early offer, means he was beasting it his So. year in HS and impressed big time at ND's camp as he was coming up on his Jr. year. Absolute monster and plays alot like Cave IMO. He's being quiet so I think that's a good sign because he doesn't want to be mobbed anymore right now by Nebraska freaks.)

23) Michael Floyd (What is there to say about this guy that hasn't been said? He's great and our #1 target overall. We've been leading for him since the very beginning and that's not going on assumption. He's taking his time and I don't feel the least bit worried on him.)

24) Whatever RB comes in first. Ryan Williams is coming up with his mom in August, Cyrus Gray is coming up soon, but I keep hearing grade issues with him and Carlton Thomas my main want at RB says we're his favorite whenever it's not slanted by a ND hater writer. CT will be deciding in Oct. and will offially visit ND in the fall.

-------You may be asking yourself, "Why no Baldwin?" The simple answer is I don't think he won't have a spot on NSD and contrary to popular belief Weis WILL bring back certain 5th years and won't sacrafice it for someone like Baldwin and to appease ND recruiting junkies who get too caught up in the process of waiting to win 4 or 5 years from now on a player who hasn't proved anything on the college level yet. Also, I'm not exactly sold on him coming here anyway. He's tall and plays TE and I've seen his clips and he looks good, but not the next Calvin Johnson IMO. I'm not one of the many drooling over him like he's the next great receiver. With his offers I know he's good, but not the way people are labeling him. Febuary is a loonnggg way away and look who Marvin Austin picked last year on NSD, UNC and he didn't want to go there until the very end. Alot changes with an uncommitted guy from now to then, especially when they're taking official visits. I just don't think between now and then that he will be Irish.

I'm also hoping big Trev. picks the Irish because he's been one of my favorite recruits since the beginning and hopefully he sees the light. His commitment would squeeze out Page, and Forst. I don't think it'll squeeze out Patchan due to the fact that he can play DE or OT for us. Well anyway that's my list and I'm sticking to it!

Ok this is in order of commit...

20/ J. Brown
21/ T. Robinson
22/ R. Williams
23/ M. Floyd
24/ E. Sabino

That's it...done!!! I'd say that we might get a transfer or two. But I also don't see CW going back on his word to award a schollie to a walk on either. It's gonna be tight!

Hello, first time posting...glad to be here... Baldwin is a top 30 recruit on Rivals...and we don't want him over Brown? Esp after missing out on top recievers last year...Floyd and Baldwin sounds intimidating to me

Hello 94, glad you hopped on board.

Remember that this thread is about predictions, not our favorites list. Some of us may actually prefer Baldwin in a direct comparison to J. Brown, but with the NSD timetable he's got, it was a lot easier to predict J. Brown hopping on board by soon, rather than Baldwin a half a year from now. With the twist of events surrounding Jeremy, the bold may be rewarded - bold being those who did not include Jeremy on their list - but we shall see.

Sounds like the writing is on the wall for Jeremy, "The Inn is full." ala Terrence Austin, Mitch Mustain, etc ... it happens.

The staff makes maybe 4-5 offers for 2 spots, if they fill up, you have to tell the 3rd guy, "Sorry."

20. Sabino
21. R. Williams
22. T. Robinson
23. Floyd
24. Baldwin

Definetly sounds like JBrown's spot is no longer in the picture...I think if were going to take a WR there are better ones on the board...also I think with 19 commitments and it only being July we can be a little bit picky right now..We dont really have to be in a hurry to fill up 24 spots...I like Sabino, Williams, Floyd, Robinson, and if we get either Butler, Walker, or Baldwin I will be very very happy...a solid recruiting class..

------Yes Jeremy could've been given a shot at WR, but he was being brought in primarily as a Nickel back type CB which is perfect for what we need. People keep saying "Baldwin or Brown for WR" but in reality it's "Baldwin or anyone for limited spots left." Baldwin knows spots are filling up fast and still taking his time so the chances of him having a spot left come NSD is 50/50. Baldwin has as much to do with Brown as a WR as Italy was to WW2....They were both irrelevant.

YoungIrish
07-28-2007, 12:11 PM
I really feel like taking Brown would be wasting a spot...If hes not going to play WR and just be a nickel back like you say...well I just think that spot should be used for a WR...The CB spot is stacked for the comming years with Lambert, Walls, Mcneil, Gray, Slaughtor, and Blanton...We need some BIG time WR's...I think Brown would have been a great pick up...but realistically save that spot for a WR...

20. E Sabino (next week)
21. R Williams (on visit)
22. M Floyd (3 weeks)
23. T Robinson (beg of Sept)
24. J Baldwin (late Oct - he doesn't wait to NSD)

I don't think we will take J Brown anymore, not because he isn't a good prospect because he is, but because we can get better. I also agree that we end up with Sabino, Floyd, Thomas/Williams, Robinson and 50/50 Baldwin.
