It's always nice to set up a profile of a Big Chiller especially since there are not too many FBS prospects from up here every year. Jordan though is definitely one of them as he along with Conor Hanratty give CT two OT's on the Rivals 250 Watch List this year. It has no doubt been a long time, if ever, since that occured.
Tommy only has 4 offers so far, but one of them is from Florida. The other three are from Duke, BC & Rutgers, and Jordan is also getting a lot of interest from PSU, UConn, Maryland, and now Notre Dame.
BC is probably the early leader here and Florida is always the elephant in the room, but Jordan talks about academics without it sounding like SOS/BBB. For one thing he fully recognizes that academically Florida does not compete with the Duke's, BC's, and ND's of the world, especially for football players.
An Irish offer would probably have ND squarely in the mix for Jordan who projects as an OG at the next level.

Offensive tackle Tommy Jordan continues to receive letters from Penn State — and assistant coach Kermit Buggs just called Ridgefield (Conn.) High on Tuesday — but Jordan understands the Nittany Lions have limited scholarships this year.
As a result, Buggs told his coach if an offer does come it likely won't be until later.
"I really like that school," the EPSNU 150 Watch List prospect said. "But [Buggs] said about three of the offers are going to be offensive linemen. He said he likes my film and, hopefully, he'll send me an offer when the time comes for them to make a decision."
Buggs visited Jordan in December, and the junior said Penn State has kept in close contact with him — as has Rutgers, Boston College and Florida. He holds scholarship offers from those three schools and Duke.
He's visited Boston at least five times, and he's been to Gainesville, Fla., on two occasions. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect is also planning to make spring trips to Rutgers and Notre Dame.
"I haven't been up to Penn State yet," he said, "but, hopefully, I will come late spring or even in the summer."
The Eagles and Gators remain his favorites. For a school to beat out those top two, Jordan said, it will have to keep close contact — just as that pair has — and show it can at least match what Boston College and Florida can offer.
"I'm not 100-percent sure what they're going to have to do," Jordan said. "Academically, Boston College is a tremendous school, and so is Notre Dame. And a lot of people don't realize Florida is very smart academic-wise.
"And, clearly, the school would have to have good football."
Jordan grew up as a fan of the Gators ("Even if I don't go to that school, I think I'll always like their football team," he added), and Ridgefield is predominantly a Boston College area.
Sure, the junior is from Connecticut. But, in Ridgefield, he said it's all about UConn basketball and Boston College football.
He said those schools were two of his favorites even before they were the first to offer him. Still, it would appear other teams still have time to woo Jordan to their campus.
"The decision's gotten harder," Jordan said, "and I have a lot to weigh out. Hopefully, I'll know by the end of my senior football season."
I will let everyone else comment on the academic wise Florida remark.................

Actually in an earlier interview he acknowledged that for football players at least Florida does not stack up academically. In this interview he could be talking about UF as a whole academically and he would be correct. I think the mere fact that he has not already committed to Florida says more than anything about his thoughts on the subject, considering that Florida was his favorite school growing up and that they have already offered him

Officially named BC as his "slight" leader but Jordan is still working on trying to get an Irish offer.
