Official GH 2010 National Signing Day Thread

We have discovered that in order to keep an orderly flow of information on NSD that it is best to post all news in one thread. I will update each individual recruits profile as they send their LOI's in, but it will be a lot easier for me and for everyone to accumulate this information if it is all posted in one place.

There will be two other NSD threads tomorrow as well. One will be a running tally of ND LOI's as they are reported, and the other one will be a list of NSD commits that are a switch from the recruits' current verbal commit. We will also have a category in that thread for any major LOI surprises.

Also because of the load on servers that is caused by the abundance of NSD visitors on sites such as GH, there may be intermittent halts in service. If you are not aware of it we have a chat room at GH that should stay available at all times and will be fired up throughout the day.To reach the Chat room, click on the Community Tab on the top line, Chat Room is the first option. You might want to test your ability to get into it today as it requires a brief Java download to enter.

According to Mike Dyer of the Cincinnati Inquirer, four-star offensive tackle Matt James (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) has faxed in his letter-of-intent to play football for the University of Notre Dame.

Following his official visit to South Bend over the weekend, the 6-foot-7, 280-pound James deliberated with his family, and chose the Irish over Ohio State. He also had scholarship offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Florida, Tennessee, Penn State, Boston College and Stanford.

Worse than anywhere right now, especially when you consider that both Zeke and Hayseed will pretty much be forced to play Safety even though both of them are better suited as OLB's in the 3-4.

Kelly is just going to have to find a way to convert a Big Skills guy to Safety and he also has to make that position priority #1 for 2011. He also needs to forget about offering Cali Safety's almost exclusively as Charlie did. It's pretty evident that CA Safety's and ND dont mix.

This is a really solid class considering what could have happend with the coaching change. Wanted to add Iaone or another Safety, but we didnt. Could be better, but could be worse. Next year should be a nice talent loaded class of 18 or so.

Demar Dorsey, the safety who once said he was 66 percent committed to Florida, will 100 percent sign with Michigan, SI.com contributor Kristian Dyer reports.

Dorsey, from Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., fell out of Florida's class a few weeks ago, touching off a recruiting contest among Michigan, Florida State, Tennessee and USC. If the practices for the Under Armour All-America Game in December are any indication, the Wolverines have nabbed an excellent player who will certainly keep his teammates entertained.

Dorsey was always around the ball during the all-star workouts, and if you couldn't see him, you could always hear him. It's always a good sign that a defensive back is a fantastic trash-talker when the receiver he covers finishes the play doubled over in laughter. That happened a few times during the Under Armour workouts.

second-Kelly will find a guy for depoth or even a complete position change (a converted RB, WR, CB-we have a LOT of these guys in all the classes)
third-dont undersestimate Badger---have you seen his film? he is a TRUE safety-plays the ball, reads the offense, and hits like a liebacker
fourth-dont underestimate Danny Boy McCarthy either
fifth-on motta and h smith i think Kelly figuring out what do with H smith and Motta is already a top priority-either he will slim them down and focus on them as safetys or bulk them up and put them on the down on the edge.

while h smith has tortured me for a while (i really see a ton of potetnial in this kid and think having 3 DC in 3 years has the kid confused)...having kelly and his staff to assess his best fit going fwd will be crucial. he has 2010 and 2011 seasons left and motta has 3 more seasons.
