Don't know why everyone is picking Floyd? Inside info. or something? It must be because if you're going off a hunch it'll most likely be wrong because Jeremy Brown is visiting for 4 whole days this weekend and CB will close the deal while he's there.

I thought I was missing out on a hot thread about Floyd's commitment being imminent. I was about ready to skip the poll question and look for said thread (rhymes are cool). IK23, your post pretty much tells me this is all speculation on Floyd. I hope we are wrong though.
Brown would be the logical choice based on visit dates. Robinson... I don't know. I am thinking he is wishing he never committed to anyone because he is torn. Best he find clarity and decide whenever that occurs. Make that a week after it occurs.
Whoever it is, I am still waiting for word on Filer and I will celebrate bigtime once he's Irish. He is the guy I wanted ever since Malcolm Smith and those other LBs spurned us last recruiting year.

OK. I have just about made the ND carosel online and found what I believe to be the basis for the Floyd excitement. I was getting use to this stuff being plastered all over GH. I was getting fat and lazy. On DD, a HS football player from Minnesota says he is good friends with a D1 recruit who talks to Floyd. Floyd supposedly told the friend he has decided. All are assuming this means he is Irish. No word on a date of an announcement. Also, this conversation was on Friday and Floyd said he had decided a few days earlier.
Now I see why some are saying Floyd and Filer might announce anytime.

Yeah... and Robert Blanton was telling everyone that he would cut it down to 5 by July, and make a decision in August, sometime before the season. :D
Sort of a, "I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin'" situation. The surface comments from Floyd's camp were about wanting a relaxing summer, you are right. But after the post II had on strong evidence pertaining to McCarthy (turned out correct) and Floyd, and the poster at DD (who explained everything about his source, not just some shady, cryptic message), you could piece together a nice read between the lines arguement, and that what Floyd is saying on the surface is just him playing the game like Blanton did. But he may just chill for the rest of the summer and take some officials to be a-o-kay with it all. Not really enough to be sure 1 way or the other.

the best part about this poll is that there's 9 votes already for 3 different guys. that just goes to show how good we are with this guys and that there's a chance that any one of the could pull the trigger as soon as tommorrow. feels good to be an Irish fan.

I need to go to bed, but I have been just soaking up all the cool news on ND recruiting all over the net. A lot of cool stuff. I saw the pics of Filer and his mom at the Gug, we will be celebrating Tuesday or Wednesday!! :)
Floyd... looks very good! I hope he feels like announcing what he has already decided.
That puts us at 20! Sabino is the key peice left on defense. After Filer is official, this board will stack up the posts on ES.
The offense will be in pursuit of 1 TB, 1 OL and 1 WR. The 25th player (I can't believe I said 25th) would be Jeremy Brown IMO and he will most likely commit during his long visit very soon.
TB - Will it be Ryan Williams, or Carlton Thomas?
OL - Trevor Robinson, Matt Patchan, Art Forst
WR - Jonathon Baldwin or possibly Chris Harper if we miss on JB?
Is it that simple? Do the recruits and staff know it is only July? Shh. Don't tell.

In my mind, Filer and Floyd are Irish. So that is 20. We are going to get a TB, 21. We will get an OL, 22. We will take Jeremy Brown, 23. The two recruits I am most excited for (after the joyous formality of Filer and Floyd) are Sabino and Baldwin. This site will be the Sabino and Baldwin watch until they verbal. You say 25 is one too many? OK, take one away and it is not the spot for Sabino and Baldwin. If Baldwin is last to verbal, maybe we stay put and do not offer Harper. Dunno? But I want Sabino and Baldwin, and the myopia that is Notre Dame recruiting will be complete. :)
Would you rather win the Gator Bowl this year? Or get Baldwin and Sabino? If you choose JB and ES, that means we lose this seasons non BCS Bowl game. Which would you choose? One has nothing to do with the other, it is just a measure of how nuts we are for recruiting.

Not enough horses in the barn for a BCS win this year fellas. Be realistic.
(Penn State, Michigan, UCLA, USC). We probably aren't going to win all four of those. Plus BC and MS always play us tough. Purdue's offense will be even more improved this year which will also hurt. Hell ya never know and believe me I have confidence in our boys, but take a step back and look at it.
We do have some horses in the barn, and are going to add 24 more to the stabel, but they've only turned a couple laps. This is going to be a tough year and a non-BCS bowl win would be alright. We just need to win one of any type. Next year we will be back in form.

This year, we need to develop our QB's, learn a new defensive scheme, gel as an offense, learn the roles, and play hard. The payoff comes in future years. I expect that we win 8-9 games (including bowl). The key to this year is to not have any embarrassing loses. That hurts the recruiting more than anything, IMO.

'08 and beyond, we should be either winning national titles or winning BCS bowl games

I think that 8-4 with a bowl win would be great seaon - we are awfully young at some pretty important positions - and a new def to learn without the kind of players that are built to play in a 3-4.
To finish this class out:
20) Floyd
21) Baldwin
22) Sabino
23) Williams
24) Robinson

I won't be happy either, but content. With our first 8 games and a young team, 7 wins this year and a bowl win would not a bad thing.

Welcome, tim.
After what I've seen (that is a hint to join the Gold Club), heard, and had time to deliberate, I'd have to cast my vote for Trevor Robinson. Thus, the avatar, of him (word of the day time) surreptitiously decked out in Irish gear.
If I were forced to cast a vote for other, I'd go with Ryan Williams. But I still like my chances with Trevor.

Alex Hurst doesn't have a player profile here but we have made his top 3, along with LSU and Tennessee. He is a ** prospect. He is said to be very underrated, as you can see by his top 3 and offer list. It's impressive that ND made his cut even without an offer. He says one will come shortly after a lineman comes off the board.
