i think i would put jahvid best on top b/c he carried (literally) the bears to victory last weekend vs minny; after i think jimmy and jacory harris should be getting more love; then mccoy and tebow and bryant to round it up.
however i don't vote, and since espn ppl do tebow will win it

It could be me but I dont think bama is this convincing in this game. if it were not for the epic failitude of the ole miss OLine and receivers bama wouldnt have scored more than a couple of field goals and maybe snead would actually have shot. its just tough to play qb when the other team is rushing three and still is getting through the offensive line untouched quite systematically. Talking about that. it doesnt help either when you make a good throw for the receiver to than basicly hand it off to the opponent

Two things about GT vs. FSU:
First, GT's defense is awful. They single-handedly put Jacory Harris (who I think is a fine player, but still has a long way to go) on the Heisman watch list. They're back up to stinking up the joint again tonight.
Second, I remember we wanted Dustin Hopkins, but settled for Tausch when Hopkins took too long to decide (he was leaning FSU anyway). Based on their young careers so far, I'd say we got the better end of that deal.

USC is up 1 score at halftime, what about the past 4 games tells you its over? :mutumbo:
I never once said it was over, but what i did say is that our only big play and scoring drive came on a lucky trick play that wond happen again. Clause has about 3 seconds to throw and when he does have time he doesnt trust the line or the recievers dont get open. It's just annoying watching USC who isnt even playin good still do work on ND. Ridiculous. Fire Weis, fire Tanuta, and let's try again. The only thing separating what I'm seeing now from what I've seen in the previous years is that we've caught a few lucky breaks. This is hard as hell to watch, as we've let (for the second time this season) a freshman quarterback look like a 5th year starter in contention for the Heisman. Sickening.

I'm not gonna get into the the off with his head chants, but guys...look at this game. Really? C'mon, besides bringing in a few big names what has C. Weis and Co. Done? What...? Recocrd vs top 10...Notta. Record VS top 25: just about the same. Bowl wins...One, yes against Hawaii. I find this so hard to watch Jimmy have to go through this, he is one hell of a player and isn't getting much for it. I love this team I do, Huge fan of a few guys, but overall...don't even wanna talk about it. I really didnt expect to win this game, id idnt. Yes, we've let another freshmen look great, but once again the stregth of this team was going to be the secondary and once again, we have guys wide open...even when we do get pressure on Barkley. And again, tackling, tackling, tackling. I would not be surprised if Teo is the leading tackler this week because he is the only guy on the field that when he gets his hands on a guy, he stays after him til he goes down.

Come on Joe, year 3. By my count it's year 5. Even if you want to ignore the first recruiting class because he was still working with the Pats, he has had 4 fairly highly rated classes since then. That's 4. Somehow, Miami can do it, Michigan is getting better quickly, UW has looked good and they had the Ty syndrome. You can't just start the clock after Quinn left. Bottomline is he didn't develop the talent the first couple of years while he had Quinn and Co., and that put him way behind. When other downtrodden programs can rebuild with three recruiting classes, we can't in 4 (5). That's coaching!
I appreciate he improved the talent level, and I do not want to see him go at this point, but I do not believe we will ever win a national championship with CW at the helm.

What a great game. The key now is to avoid the letdown against a dangerous BC team. I'm flying up with my son for that game. I just love Clausen (outside of that time issue at the end). He will have the opportunity to go pro this year, but I hope he stays. He could use one more year of seasoning, but he has really become a tremendous leader this year. Great effort, never give up attitude.
I'm not sure about him leavin...honestly no matter how great the odds next year at USC...I know he wants another shot with Floyd back in and healthy. Jimmy competes and thats what I wanted to see. The balls he and Parris had at the end....the others on the team need to take some notes.

I'll retract my earlier statement, as I was extremely frustrated and the boys put up a helluva fight with a comeback. It just sucks losing and now we gotta put up with another year of "ND can't play with top flight competition," "ND can't play with USC," and "ND is 0-5 against USC under Weis." I hope they finish out the rest of this year without another loss and win a bowl game. I get so tired of ESPN and Mark May's smugness, but it's pretty much all I watch. Listening to the College Football Live crew right now (with the exception of Holtz, obviously) is hard- though I gotta check myself, as Mark May just complimented them.
I hope the recruits that were in attendance got a taste of what ND is about and the fact that they're improving. Hopefully it won't take them long to break back into the Top 25, and hopefully a lot of recruits will be excited about what is to come in South Bend. Then again, you could probably say the same about USC...the bastards.

The O-line really did step up at the end of the game, but the effort was uneven in general. Hopefully, what the O-line learned today was that when they put out that effort, they can beat the best. Jimmy was on the run a lot, and I hope Seantral Henderson saw an opening at LT, because our LT just could not stop the bull rush or spin move of Griffin consistently. Who knows, it may have been just that they really had to start believing that they could play with them. Overall, a great game. On to BC.

I might be able to compete with you for that. Senior year of HS me and some of my teammates went there for a camp.
1) My teammates who were black definitely got the akward treatment and looks from a lot of people.
2) The heat was something like I would imagine in hell. We were there in August.
3) The d-coordinator threatened to have us kicked out of the camp because during the 7 on 7 tournament our team was beating the crap out the team he was coaching, and like typical So Cal kids we were doing a lot of smack talking. He didn't like that. We won the whole tournament LOL!
4) Norm Chow was an asshole and would only speak to the QB they were recruiting.
5) Steve Young was an even bigger asshole, and wouldn't speak to anybody not on the BYU team.
6) A camp worker came into a teammates room and got into his face and was yelling at him for being in the girls dorm after hours. Turns out it was a different black guy. The one out of six at camp that wasn't on our team. When you assume......
7) All those rules listed by IrishR#1 even apply to people visiting for a football camp. I couldn't wait to get home so I could break *MOST* of those rules as soon as possible.

After this, he is now hated more by Bama in half a season then Fulmer managed his entire time at Tenn.
http://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2009/10/lane_kiffin_its_a_game_that_we.html
Kiffin also took exception to the fact that headsets for Tennessee coaches were not working before the game. As a result, both sides had to disregard headsets for the game's first series. UT held Alabama's offense to a three-and-out.
"It was just amazing," Kiffin said. "Our kickoff team goes out, everything's working in pregame and about 10 seconds before the opening kick our headsets just happen to go off -- in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Amazing deal. Just like the penalties today. ... Everything was great. We tested everything, came out right before kickoff and all of sudden they don't work. I've seen that before and heard of it before. They have happened to come back at the end of the first series. Then all of a sudden they worked, after our defense wasn't able to get the personnel from upstairs for the whole first series. They happened to come back. It would be just great timing so Coach Saban and their defense would be able to have their headsets."

Iowa is a perfect example of the fallacy of the BCS rankings in all regards. The human polls are too subjective and the computers have an Iowa team who is losing 21-7 to Indiana at halftime AT HOME, and is the #1 ranked team by the computers. Now Iowa could still come back to win this game, but pleeze tell me how that team is #1 in anything. Makes no sense and that is why they have to figure out some kind of playoff system eventually.

Well, the refs kept it close for Stanzi until he could get the wind at his back, and now it looks like Iowa will take it from there. Congrats, Big Ten -- you've successfully kept Iowa in the hunt, and it only cost you your integrity, if you had any.
