4.9 is kinda slow for a DE. I trust CW, but his 40 doesn't say WOW.

Not in a 3/4. they are like takles in the 4/3.

Exactly. This kid's a lineman. I care more that he can blow up an offensive tackle than beat Carl Lewis in a foot race.
He could also be a DE regardless of his 40 time. Is he quick off the line? Does he have a burst?
I'm more interested in how DE's run the 10 yd dash. If a DE has to run more than 10 steps he's not making a sack!

That's a very good point, there aren't many plays where a DE runs 40 yards. What is this kid's current interest in Notre Dame and what's the other big competition for him?
31 DEs competed at the '07 USA AA Combine Results.
7 had a faster time than 4.9
The lowest was Nicolas Perry at 4.5. I think he was the only one under 4.72.
Darius Fleming was 4.82.
Obviously 4.9 wouldn't make Habern the fastest DE in his class but it would make him competitive with most of last years 4 star DEs. The 12 Ranked DE, Ayers, UCLA signee, ran a 4.88.
Habern could be an OG, a DT, or a DE.
