teams we love to hate ...

Florida – Could we list anyone besides the Gators first? It’s tough to live in Florida if you don’t love UF. Success breeds disdain for the defending BCS national champions and Tim Tebow is an easy target. My colleague Matt Humphrey just outlined the spike in Facebook hate of the Gators on our UF blog if you want to read more about those who loathe Team Urban. Tennessee – Lane Kiffin has infuriated just about anybody and everybody outside of Knoxville, Tenn.

Alabama – Nick Saban has upset everybody that Lane Kiffin hasn’t in the SEC and South Florida. He's ruthless and he wins.

Notre Dame – Notre Dame football games are on NBC almost as frequently as Law & Order, but it’s been a long time since the Irish proved they deserve that much exposure.

Ohio State – Michigan says so.

Michigan – Ohio State says so.

USC – The Men of Troy are consistently the team to beat in the west and seem to follow a completely different NCAA rule book. That damn fight song is annoying, too.

Oklahoma – Barry Switzer bred this hatred with his success in Norman in the 70s and 80s, and Bob Stoops has carried on the tradition. Texas fans can help you come up with a lot more reasons.

BYU – Mountain West and WAC fans loathe the Cougars, who many believe play dirty and thrive because they rank among the wealthiest programs in the non-BCS world.

Miami – The Hurricanes have a rich winning tradition and still can’t shake their Thug U rep.

Florida State – Seminoles have taken a tumble, but Miami fans still have plenty of rage for Bowden and company.

South Florida – Jim Leavitt, who often comes off as a big jerk in press conferences, beats his BCS status over UCF’s head every chance he gets.

I would think it would actually come down to only a handful of teams...I mean outside of the big ten and their non-conf. opponents who really hates scUM or pOSU the entire year?

Does Arizona, Maine always tune in to watch one of them win/lose? I don't think so.

For some reason I dont find myself hating Florida...Tebow is just awesome on & off the field. Perhaps I'm just conditioning myself to like Meyer for the future.

BYU and OU? Really? BYU still has that underdog aura, and I actually kinda like Stoops. He's a solid coach and isn't nearly as annoying as, say, almost every SEC coach.

All other 114 teams can go to hell. Mainly USC Michigan and Michigan St.

I respect Bob Stoops a lot... in fact he and Mark Richt are easily the two coaches not tied to ND that I have the most love for... would love to have either come to ND at one point... too bad Stoops can't get the BCS monkey of his back

Probably the two biggest schools I like/respect the most outside ND.

I've seen much of the rest of the college football world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Notre Dame is the light.
