Banks has been a starter since Freshman year and put up impressive rushing numbers as a Sophomore. He will be switching to QB for his Junior year. D.J. has already made a Top 5 list: Alabama, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, LSU and Notre Dame.

Why? Well, I've watched the three minutes (and change) of D.J.'s sophomore highlights on Scout and you can see his future in college: Lockdown Corner
There aren't but a couple of clips that show Banks on D, but his aggression and ability to punish the opponent are evident. And he welcomes the chance to play DB in college.
If you've seen his freshman highlights, then you remember an elusive RB with uncanny vision, balance, and acceleration for a 9th grader.
In the sophomore highlights, it might initially appear that D.J. has lost a step, but when you go through the entire film, it's obvious that he's not 100% at times, because he still flashes that burst at times.
It's not surprising that D.J. would be hampered with ailments during the season, because he takes a pounding for the Warriors. He's a workhorse who gets a lot of touches and plays practically every down - and switches positions more than McKnight....QB/RB/WR/DB/KR....
Phenomenal strength - herculean bench of 350 to go along with 475 squat....could become one of the first big prizes up for grabs in the saga of Saban vs. LSU recruiting....initially told me that he favored LSU, USC, and Ole Miss, but that was nearly a year-and-a-half ago....
Has over 400 rushing attempts (for more than 2,700 yards and 34 TDs) in two years, which might normally cause some concerns about durability....but Banks plays in Class A, so he hasn't absorbed the week-to-week hits that a Neville or Ouachita RB would face....
Banks' father is an assistant coach for St. Frederick, which ousted Elton and Al Woods from the playoffs in D.J.'s frosh campaign....picked off 9 passes his freshman year....that figure dropped to zero after Banks moved to S and teams feared throwing the ball deep....was a team leader on and off the field as a 9th grader....high GPA and a standout baseball player as well....
Banks is much thicker and physically mature now - in comparison to these pics....when I saw Banks at the NIKE camp, I was surprised at how much muscle he had added....don't have a pic of him from Dutchtown b/c my batteries all went dead....I didn't realize how many batteries it takes to go through 350 prospects....
From a guy I know that scouts Louisiana.

I believe he'll be a lockdown corner in college.
Scout already has his position listed as CB. I imagine he is going to be primarily a running QB at St. Frederick's, and continue to play in the secondary on D.

oh no.... the dreaded "lockdown corner" phrase.
tall white receivers are deceptively fast....
all the media outlets said that i was a dual threat QB just because I'm black, but obviously, my heisman trophy tells me that i'm a heck of a pocket passer.

What kind of deal can I get on a minivan for the last week of August?

Hertz said they'd have OJ pick me up. How can you match that? I'll tell you what, send your buddy Maurice with a fifth of something and a couple assault rifles for protection and you're in.

OJ's faster... that's for sure. I mean, the guy can outrun cops.... I'm still having trouble with UF's defensive ends... shoot, i just crapped myself thinking of them.

Am I the only one that saw that this kid benches 350 as a sophomore in high school....are you kidding me. And a squat of 475.....WOW this kid has to be some sort of machine. Hell, I know of OL & DL that can't do that and they are 6" and over 100lbs heavier.

can you say "OFFER" on Sep 1??!!
my word, if half of what that write up by Svos lousiana guy is true (not doubting all of it at all....great scouting report!) this guy is special!
CB must be salivating to bring him in as a corner...
confession:
little nervous about the dad being the coach...always seem to be those assistant coaching jobs opening up right when the blue chippers become seniors down in SEC country.

This kid absolutely befuddles me. I don't see how he only has an offer from Tulane. There must be underlying character or serious grades issues because he is one of the top prospects in Louisiana.

Make that wave a Green one as Tulane picks up a Banks. Unfortunately we do not have a Green Wave prefix, sorry Tulane.
