Video Highlights: http://www.scoutingohio.com/Will_Studlien_Big_Walnut.htm
Just came across his highlights over on ScoutingOhio and instantly liked what I saw considering he was only a sophomore in the video. Looks like Ohio State and Pitt are on him early per this story (http://www.jjhuddle.com/stories/WillStudlien.htm) on JJ Huddle.
The linebacker crop in Ohio looks to be strong in 2009.

Some lists that I have seen have Studlien as a visitor for this weekend's Junior Day. However, I have not seen a source for this info anywhere. It may make some sense though as Studlien was at OSU a weekend ago and was not offered. It is generally considered that he would accept a Buckeye offer on the spot. Without one, Illinois seems to be his top choice. ND should be getting into the mix shortly with the overflow of high quality Ohio linebackers this year who OSU does not have room for. Marrow and Fox are both confirmed visitors this weekend, and I would be surprised if they do not get offered within the next two weeks. If Studlien shows up, you can add him to that list as well.

shoud get an offer IMO, I hope he does, he is the ILB I want in this class, Teo of course too but he could come regardless if we already have one. I love the way this kid plays football, tough, decisive, and delivers upon contact. Really understands the position IMO

It has been confirmed that Will was in attendance at the 2/24 ND Junior Day. Still sounds like he will hold out for an offer from the Buckeyes though.

I agree with you robdog, Studlien plays much faster than his 4.65 forty time would lead you to believe. He is the classic inside linebacker type we haven't seen much of in the last few years. An excellent ability to read the play on the fly, outstanding tackling skills and the ability to get off of blocks quickly makes him in my opinion a great "catch" if we can sign him.:)

Really wish the Irish would get involved here. Currently has offers from Illinois, Akron, Miami (OH), Northwestern and Cincinnati.

Says his top three is currently... Cincinnati, Miami (OH) and Northwestern. Will said that Illinios backed off once he got injured (ACL tear playing rugby). He will decide after he visits Nothwestern and Cincy.

Props to Studlien for choosing education first, and props to Fitzgerald and NU for not pulling this kid's schollie offer after a devastating injury. If Studlien can rehab himself back to form he has the potential to be a stellar Big Ten LB. 30 years he from now he may look back at that injury as the best thing that ever happened to him because prior to the injury he was destined to spend his college career at a typical Big ten football factory, either Illinois or OSU.
