Harris was named the Offensive Line MVP at the National Underclassman Combine. Harris, 6-foot-3 and 330-pounds, is arguably the best underclassman offensive lineman of the entire season thus far per the Underclassman Combine.

He’s a great leader and athlete, and had a 7’0” broad, 24.5-inch vertical, 5.37 shuttle, 5.74 40, and 25 reps at 185-pounds.

this kid is a train. Hopefully he can improve the 40 by .3 or .4 and he can be the best OL in the nation

yes... because OL's really need good 40 times.

..... about as much as garbagemen need a BS in math.

It can't hurt. 40's have a lot to do with how well you get off the line, and an OL can never be to good at that.

Not really. His initial burst is all that really matters. That said, optimal range for an OL is 4.85-5.3 and those OLs below 4.85 are flat out freaks.

That's what I said...40's have a lot to do with how well you get off the line. I would consider "getting of the line" and "initial burst" close to the same thing.

Yes, but a 40 and an initial burst are WORLDS apart. A very low percentage of plays you'll see an OL further than 10 yards down the field.

I don't disagree with you. My guess is part of his 40 time being as high as it was was because it took a while for him to get his 330 pounds of flesh moving. If his time improved, it would be due to a better burst. Having a better burst would make him a better lineman.

Although I don't think good 40 times are a necessary attribute that a lineman needs, I don't think that they're irrelevant.

It can go both ways... he was either extremely slow off the line and finished strong or started well and tailed off. Considering he gained MVP of the National Underclassman Combine, I'd say he probably has a good burst but tails off.

That said, he has plenty of time to cut weight and improve his speed and agility.

definently doesn't have the build of a tackle, but definently a guard. He will be even heavier than Stewart.....and he was two big-macs away from 400.

I think we should just let him play all 5 line positions at once. This way, we can run a 9 wide set. Complete match-up nightmare for defenses.

Guys, let's be a little more civil here. If you were a potential blue chip prospect or parent and you were getting trashed by fans, you'd probably drop that school.
