Has anyone heard anything about how Bruton is performing in Senior Bowl practices? I went to NFL.com and skimmed some of their Senior Bowl videos but didn't hear any reference to him. Has anyone who has paid more attention than I have know how he's doing?

Yeah, I just watched video of the recap of Day 2 of practices. There's a nice shot of Shawn Nelson (TE from S. Miss) steamrolling Rey Rey. And I sighed contentedly.

some premium board that I don't have a membership too has a thread title that suggests he is not doing well at all -- in fact, it indicates that his stock is taking a "nosedive". But, again, I can't actually read the thread to see what the issue is.

I was scouring the web today looking and couldn't find much. If it is true that his stock is taking a nose dive, that is fine for now, because athletically he is freak. If he goes to the combine, he will impress people. Plus, he will make his name in the NFL on special teams at first anyway.

I just found this article and video over at WNDU.com:
David Bruton hits the gridiron hard in preparation for Senior Bowl (http://www.wndu.com/sports/headlines/38125219.html)

I was listening to NFL radio and waiting to hear something, anything about David. Nothing at all. They showed the practices on NFL network last night and still no David. I'll check again today, and if I hear or see anything I'll post it tomorrow.

Hopefully he has a great combine. It looks like he might need it.

"Notre Dame’s David Bruton really looked bad in the one-on-one matchup taking too many extra steps and showing a slow drive to the football. He appeared to be getting on himself after each of those catches he allowed which shows some passion and competitiveness. "

He'll be fine. It is what it is...He will be a solid special teamer and as he learns the game more a decent dime back.

Love trhis thread, even if just for Ownz pic and RGolf's avatar! Bruton should do well at the combine but still wont be a very high pic. But he will play in the NFL and could get a shot if he plays well on ST.

David Bruton

40 yd: 4.46 --- 2nd place for safeties, tied 2nd place for DBs
Vertical: 41.5" --- tied 1st place for safeties, tied 3rd place for DBs
60 yd shuttle: 10.96 --- 1st place for safeties, 1st place for DBs
Cone: 6.6 --- tied 1st place for safeties, tied 2nd place for DBs

He tore it up from a measureables standpoint...the knock on him though is tight hips causing him to struggle a little bit in man to man coverage.

I'm rooting for David to start cashing NFL paychecks. That way he can afford to buy a decent chin strap.
Seemed like every game his helmet would come flying off.
Would love to see him in a Bears uniform.

Better a Bear than a sit on the bench (like Brady) Brown.

Amen, would love to see him in a Bears uni. No matter what, even at league minimum, I will love to see him start cashing NFL paychecks. He is a young man with his head on straight, he worked hard on and off the field to provide a good future for his son. Good luck to him.

Bruton has been a special teams Ace in Denver. Beats constant double teams as the gunner. Forced a game winning fumble this week but was hurt on the play.
