There is a thread about the OL coach, and DL coach. So I figured I would make a OC thread.
My mind has been searching around.. Prince seems to be done.
Anyone hear of any other names?

I'm sure Gruden's name will be tossed around, but he would want full control.

haha. I was just thinking about him. I looked up his Wikipedia. He is from South Bend, and his Dad coached at ND. But other than that he doesnt have any connections to ND. Interesting though, but like you said #1 it would be tough to get him and Coach Weis in the same room. And harder to get them on the same page.

It must be as cold in hell as it is in ohio.

NFL head coach to College coordinator, that would be a stretch. He would really have to want to be here.

There is nothing wrong with ohio. Except the snow and the rain.:alcoholic:

I don't think one will be hired. Charlie will be the OC. Alford will be RB coach and Stripling or a 'wildcard candidate' that hasn't gone public yet(bcs school this year) will be DL coach.

Thanks Mike Frank

Who is this Alford guy? I must have missed the boat on him. Any background on him?

If this is the 'make or break' year for Weis, he is going to be the OC, if he is gonna go down, it's going to be with him calling the shots on offense

OL coach - check
DL coach - in waiting
RB coach - waiting
Hopefully a new Strength and conditioning coach

Shhhh,. He's the best. Between he, Steve Wilfong, IUB, Kenja and Rockne3d at DD and Bootang at Rivals, I feel pretty fortunate with the info I get.

Alford led IU to the 1987 national championship.....kidding.
Alford is the current RB coach at Louisville. Said to be a very good coach AND recruiter.

Wies might name someone a O Cordinator but draw up the gameplan and call plays while the OC just assists Chuck like RB coach QB coach Line Coach/Cordinator look for him to get someone like him with schematics and such that he calls a cordinator so they may be more compatable with training and the like..... Wies acutally has time to pick from his interviewers unlike when he hired people the first time while preping for the superbowl....just an opinion....i wouldnt mind a new strength and fitness coach but i dont think it was ND lack of fitness that lost their games late in the fourth for them i think it was a young QB and other young skill players and a series or unlucky circumstances we will win the close ones next year claussen will be solid and our blocking will improve

Interesting info. Alford sounds like he will be a great pick up.
