Man, this is becoming the popular thing to do to keep assistants. I bet it stops the first time one of the assistants gets told to walk.

And the Colts and the Cowboys have this going in the NFL. I'm not sure how the Cowboys can do it though. They aren't interviewing a black guy for head coach since Garrett is next-in-line. The Colts are promoting Jim Caldwell, who is black, so the Rooney Rule won't apply.
I would like to see Notre Dame do this. I like it. It adds stability to the program, there won't be a big change of systems, and if you can find a good guy (like Corwin Brown), then he won't leave.

I agree. It is a program stabilizer. With recruiting, current players, media and alumni. Its a great idea.
