I have a lot of respect for Corwin Brown. I think when Tenuta was hired, it was probably thought that he would be the DC within a season or two as C. Brown would move on. I love Corwin Brown and think he has down a great job, but I hope he gets the EMU job, or another job, he deserves it, and will be sucessful. Good Luck to him.

I selfishly hope he stays at ND. Even if CW were to be let go, I would hope CB would still be here. Seeing CB's press conference last week further solidified my man crush. He knows what ND football is about and where it needs to be. It's just ironic that he went to UM. He could very well get that job IMO and when Dick Rod flounders while CB would succeed I woul not be shocked to see CB get that job down the road. Yuck. I like him.

Would hurt recruiting. Doubt it would effect defensive performance much as long as Tenuta says on board.

I disagree. Look how much McCarthy and Blanton have developed, and also Bruton has gotten so much better from last year too. Thats all Coach Brown. It would be a HUGE loss if he was to leave.

It would be a major loss but that will all be moot if charlie is let go... as the new hc would more than likely bring in his own crew....

that would be awful if he left. but you gotta let a man grow. i see him being a fine HC in a few years.

I hope Corwin stays for recruiting purposes. Tenuta will develop people, no problem (look at what he did with lesser talent at GT). If Corwin leaves, we need another great recruiter to focus on the D (maybe someone who defensive tackles would like?)

Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens . I would hate to lose Corwin, but if he's offered the job and accepts then I will wish him nothing but the best.

I think we all knew it was just a matter of time before Corwin is gone. I was hoping it wouldn't be this soon though. Like everybody else on here, I wish him nothing but the best. Who knows, maybe in a roundabout way he ends up back at ND as the head coach.

contrary to popular opinion, i tend to think that corwin was a gamble of a hire that turned out to be a heck of a recruiter. he had proven himself as a capable DB coach at the pro level, but he was still considered an obscure choice as a coordinator at the college level. weis saw energy and enthusiasm in him and that has translated well on the recruiting trail, but as a defensive coordinator, he's been closer to ok than great. he's done well with what he's been given, and the defense is no longer a liability under his watch, but that said, he's still got some growing to do in the position.

on the other hand, tenuta came to ND at the top of his game, and although he came a year after brown, he feels like the more long term solution...perhaps the guy charlie would have like to have taken to replace minter had he been available at the time.

I would be saddened if Brown left. He's easily my favorite person involved in the program right now.

I agree 100%. I think we need veteran coordinators, not position coaches that Charlie turns into coordinators.

DC at ND or HC at EMU?
chrissakes if CW goes CB ought to be on the short list to be the HC at ND...CB will blow his long term juice if he goes to a stepping stone EMU job-better to go job hunting from ND than EMU...unless of course CB wants to be a lifer at EMU...puhlease!

I love CB, but c'mon.

1. No way in hell CB is on a short list if CW were to be fired. Only if our long list has candidated running away would CB be a candidate. It's only because he is so unproven as a HC.

2. Taking a HC job at EMU is exactly what you need to start your ascent to a HC job at a place like ND. Look at Urban Meyer, Dan Hawkins and soon Brian Kelly. The list goes on. Now ofen times HCs are hired from within but not when you only have 2 years as a coordinator (at any level). If CW goes, ND has to get a bonafied proven NCAA HC.

In 5 years, that might be Corwin Brown. Let's hope he replaces CW in 5 years and after a couple NCs.

Im a huge Corwin Brown fan. He is my favorite coach on the staff. But I dont know if he is ready for a HC job at ND yet. I think one day he could be a marvelous HC..., but right now he is still learning and getting the defense better.

Brown has already turned Robert Blanton into a future star, and he was working wonders with Darrin Walls. I would be even more pessimistic if he were to leave.

I don't want to see myself get more pessimistic. That'll be worse to see than the stats from the USC game lqtm.

Don't make me pessimistic. You wouldn't like me when I'm pessimistic...
