Not much to say. It felt like every time they go they got something going, something bad would happen, ie. turnover, penalty. Right from the first drive, they had a first down, and a penalty was called for a chop block. Not a whole lot to take away from tonights game. Let us all turn our attention toward Navy. Go Irish.

Pissed isn't the right word. Where do you want start? I will leave that for the coaching staff. They showed what they are tonight, an OK team, nothing more. I hope for a win against Navy, a loss to Syracuse and SC would be a disaster. I am trying to stay positive, hoping tonight was a hangover from last week. No matter what, best case is a 7-5 season, which most of us would have been ok with 3 months ago. That is still an attainable goal.

how these guys couldn't get up to play tonight baffles me. one would think that these men would have some frustration left from last week adn would want to take it out on bc, but instead they showed up flat and uninspired (at least to me). our offense has too many weapons to get shut out. i think charlie should take back offensive play calling duties and latina must be shown the way to the unemployment line.

This team is not much better than the one last year. We played a bullshit schedule and can only beat the shit teams on it. We must fire EVERY COACH ON THE TEAM.

Best case scenario without success next year,(a dream only), keep CW as OC, Rob Ianello as recruiting coordinator, Tenuta as DC, and pay Nick Saban any amount of $$ to come and turn things around. Could you imagine what he could do with the talent either already on the team or coming in next season. Like I said, a dream only, I hope CW finds victory with the Irish, but I can't say my confidence in that is growing. That being said, there is a lot of emotion flowing on the boards right now, tommorrow will be a better day.

I still want a gimmick offense like the spread, the triple option, or the Texas Tech offense. Pro-style just doesn't seem to be working. We won with the option in the old days and with Holtz. Georgia Tech is very good with Paul Johnson, and he has been there for one year with none of his recruits. Texas Tech is amazing with a quarterback who doesn't get rattled. The spread is a successful offense that Dick Rod ran to perfection in WV. Luckily we will probably make a bowl, but we will get murdered in it. I don't want to accept mediocracy.

We do run a pretty damn open site. I belong to a UC Bearcat site where the mods lock down pretty much ANY discussion they don't like.
We let a lot of crap slide here. However, when somebody challenges the people who run this board...bad shit is gonna happen. Talking smack is one thing, talking smack to people who have helped build this thing...not overly smart.
Just my two cents.

Robertsgolf, agreed about f-saban. I don't like him either. All I was saying is that sometimes, the coaches that nobody wants to play for, are the most successful. In the most recent SI mag, the poll of NFL players, when asked what coach you most WOULDN'T want to play for, were Tom Coughlin, Bill Belichek, a couple of others, can't remember who, and Bill Parcells, who isn't even a coach.
My point being, that coach that is a complete A-hole, that all of players hate, will win in the short term. Now granted, maybe in the long term, guys will start to tune them out, but not before finding success. I thought that was what CW was, but I must have been wrong, because none of the players seem to be scared of any of the coaches. I predict some wind sprints the future.

I guess making that transition is toough for him.

N0 O line No D line what the F@@k Im tired I cant watch anymore If it were not for recruiting I would call for charlies head but we are getting recruits. How long does it take, how long can I make an excuse I miss the glory days I hate Ty. But the reason he got canned was because he couldnt win the close game. I hate BC and they arent very good but we should be beating these teams. I dont care what anyone says there is something wrong we just dont want to start over again because we have been threw this and it sucks. I know we will be good next year but being good isnt good enough. National title contention is the only thing I will except next year if not Im sorry, talk loud draw a crowd thats all we have done. The only way this season can become a success know is to beat SC.

Please enlighten me Ron, when the hell does the number of posts one has under their belt have ANY kind of effect whatsoever on the validity of their post? I could care less how asanine your comments are, any complete moron can get to 2,000 posts and not have said ONE DAMN THING...whereas someone can get to 10 posts and post a lot of intelligent factual information. As someone said earlier "this is America" - and you're right. It's a country fighting two wars, incredible financial crisis and levels of unemployment, and a whole host of other legitimate problems.
If people are going to get furious over what someone who roots for the same team as you says on the internet, there are far greater tragedies and things to be angry about. We all get upset, but step back and put it in perspective. It's young men playing a game, and I'm as guilty as anyone of being too passionate about it, but its entertainment, and while we all care a helluva lot, its a football game and nothing more except what we make of it.

Blammo is lame, I need something new.
i do not know what to even think...their are soo many holes to fill and problems to be fixed.
i know everyone has a bad game, but 0 TD's and 4 INT's...terrible. i'm really upset after this loss, but atleast i know with the maturity of the team and recruiting it can't go anywhere but up. I just don't want to have to say that and use that excuse.

First, I agree with the sentiment that appears to be out there, that the current status of this team is unacceptable. Who on this board doesn't think that that?
However, Weis was hired, without head football coaching experience at either the NFL or college level. It's not like he had a huge amount of college experience period. How long was he at S. Carolina, and wasn't that the only place he was at? Was he a grad asst.?
Anyway, should we expect anything else than some growing pains from Weis himself, as well as the team? ND hired him, extended his contract; I think we have to live with the growth. It's frustrating, and to me, Weis has to show us that he can do the job. I'm not for firing him right now, but if I do have any faith in him anymore, it's not much. No more learning on the job as ND head coach! Let this be a lesson, whether Weis ends up successful or not.
It is unacceptable, but I think we may just have to live with it for a while longer, with or without Weis.
Hi Stoney.
